Abstract

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, a registration request from a first user including information relating to an account of the first user and a unique payment proxy to be associated with the first user. The method includes storing the unique payment proxy in association with the account of the first user. The method includes receiving, from a mobile device of a second user, a request to transfer funds to the first user. The method includes identifying the account of the first user by retrieving the information relating to the account of the first user from the database using the unique payment proxy included in the request. The method includes providing instructions to display a user interface on the mobile device of the second user to facilitate the transfer. The user interface is personalized for the first user.

Claims (70)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a payment service system, a registration request from a first user, wherein the registration request comprises information relating to an account of the first user and a unique payment proxy to be associated with the first user;

storing, by the payment service system and in a database maintained by the payment service system, the unique payment proxy in association with the account of the first user;

receiving, by the payment service system, a request to generate a web page for facilitating payment from a second user, wherein the request comprises the unique payment proxy;

in response to receiving the request, identifying, by the payment service system, the account of the first user by retrieving the information relating to the account of the first user from the database using the unique payment proxy included in the request;

generating, by the payment service system, an interactive element to be embedded within the web page, wherein the interactive element is generated based on the unique payment proxy, and wherein interaction with the interactive element via a sensor associated with a mobile device of the second user facilitates a transfer of funds to the account of the first user; and

upon receiving an indication that the second user has interacted with the interactive element of the web page, providing, by the payment service system, instructions to display a user interface on the mobile device of the second user to complete the transfer of funds to the account of the first user.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

after receiving an indication that the second user has interacted with the interactive element of the web page, determining an identity of the second user; and

determining an account of the second user based on an association between the determined identity and the account of the second user stored in the database maintained by the payment service system.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

after providing the instructions to display the user interface to complete the transfer of funds to the account of the first user on the mobile device of the second user, receiving, by the payment service system, a payment amount from the mobile device; and

based on the received payment amount and the identified account of the first user, initiating, by the payment service system, a transfer of the payment amount to the account of the first user from the second user.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

after providing the instructions to display the user interface to complete the transfer of funds to the account of the first user on the mobile device of the second user, generating a confirmation message that includes a second interactive element to confirm the transfer of funds to the account of the first user;

transmitting the confirmation message to the mobile device of the second user;

receiving an indication that the second user has interacted with the second interactive element from the mobile device of the second user; and

initiating the transfer of funds to the account of the first user.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

after providing the instructions to display the user interface to complete the transfer of funds to the account of the first user on a plurality of mobile devices of a plurality of second users, receiving a plurality of payment amounts from the plurality of mobile devices, respectively;

identifying a plurality of accounts of each second user of the plurality of second users;

aggregating the plurality of payment amounts into an aggregated payment amount; and

causing the aggregated payment amount to be transferred to the account of the first user.

6 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a payment service system, a registration request from a first user, wherein the registration request comprises information relating to an account of the first user and a unique payment proxy to be associated with the first user;

storing, by the payment service system and in a database maintained by the payment service system, the unique payment proxy in association with the account of the first user;

receiving, from a mobile device of a second user, a request to transfer funds to the first user, wherein the request comprises the unique payment proxy;

in response to receiving the request, identifying, by the payment service system, the account of the first user by retrieving the information relating to the account of the first user from the database using the unique payment proxy included in the request; and

providing, by the payment service system to the mobile device of the second user, instructions to display a user interface on the mobile device of the second user to facilitate the transfer, wherein the user interface is personalized for the first user.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the unique payment proxy comprises:

a currency indicator that corresponds to a particular currency of a plurality of currencies, and

a string of one or more characters that uniquely identifies the first user, wherein the characters comprise letters or numbers, and wherein the currency indicator and the string are concatenated such that the currency indicator appears immediately before the string.

8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the unique payment proxy uniquely identifies the first user among users of the payment service system.

9 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

associating, by the payment service system, a unique uniform resource locator corresponding to the first user to information corresponding to the first user for a web page of the money transfer service, wherein the unique uniform resource locator is personalized for the first user and the unique payment proxy.

10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the payment service system receives the request to transfer funds to the first user from the second user based on the unique payment proxy being entered into a browsing application executing on the mobile device of the second user.

11 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the user interface to facilitate the transfer comprises identifying information of the first user and an entry field configured to receive a payment amount to be transferred to the first user.

12 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

determining an identity of the second user based on login credentials associated with the mobile device of the second user; and

determining an financial account of the second user based on an association between the determined identify of the of the second user and the account of the second user stored in the database maintained by the payment service system.

13 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

receiving, by the payment service system, a payment amount from the mobile device of the second user; and

based on the received payment amount and the identified account of the first user, initiating, by the payment service system, a transfer of the payment amount to the account of the first user.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein initiating the transfer of the payment amount to the account of the first user comprises:

generating a confirmation message that includes an interactive element to confirm the transfer of the payment amount to the account of the first user;

transmitting the confirmation message to the mobile device of the second user;

receiving an indication that the second user has interacted with the interactive element from the mobile device of the second user; and

causing the payment amount to be transferred from an account of the second user to the account of the first user.

15 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

receiving a unique identifier associated with to the second user; and

identifying an account of the second user based on a stored association between the unique identifier associated with the second user and the account of the second user in the database of the payment service system.

16 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

providing instructions to display the user interface to facilitate the transfer to a plurality of mobile devices of a plurality of second users;

receiving a plurality of payment amounts from the plurality of mobile devices;

aggregating the plurality of payment amounts into an aggregated payment amount; and

causing the aggregated payment amount to be transferred to the account of the first user.

17 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the user interface on the mobile device of the second user comprises a web page for facilitating payment from the second user.

18 . The method of claim 17 , comprising:

generating an interactive element based on the unique payment proxy, wherein interaction with the interactive element facilitates the transfer from the second user; and

embedding the interactive element within the web page prior to providing the instructions to display the user interface to the mobile device of the second user.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the interaction with the interactive element is via a sensor associated with the mobile device of the second user.

20 . A payment service system comprising:

one or more processors;

a database; and

one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media coupled to one or more of the processors and comprising instructions operable when executed by one or more of the processors to cause the payment service system perform operations comprising:

receiving, by a payment service system, a registration request from a first user, wherein the registration request comprises information relating to an account of the first user and a unique payment proxy to be associated with the first user;

storing, by the payment service system and in a database maintained by the payment service system, the unique payment proxy in association with the account of the first user;

receiving, from a mobile device of a second user, a request to transfer funds to the first user from a second user , wherein the request comprises the unique payment proxy;

in response to receiving the request, identifying, by the payment service system, the account of the first user by retrieving the information relating to the account of the first user from the database using the unique payment proxy included in the request; and

providing, by the payment service system to the mobile device of the second user, instructions to display a user interface on the mobile device of the second user to facilitate the transfer, wherein the user interface is personalized for the first user.
