Abstract

A source system receives an indication to suppress a listing associated with an entity, wherein the indication is based at least in part on a confidence score from the source system indicating that the listing is a duplicate of a representative listing. A list of a provider systems that provide search results including the listing associated with the entity is identified. A first provider system is searched for a first listing matching the listing associated with the entity. The source system receives from the first provider system, a provider-supplied external identifier associated with the first listing. A request to suppress is transmitted to the first listing from a search result generated in response to a search request submitted via the first provider system.

Claims (55)

1. A method comprising:

comparing, by a processing device of a source system, a first listing associated with an entity to a representative listing associated with the entity to determine a confidence score;

identifying the first listing as a duplicate listing in view of determining the confidence score is greater than or equal to a threshold level;

retrieving, from a database, a list of a plurality of provider systems that provide search results comprising the listing associated with the entity;

searching a first provider system of the plurality of provider systems, by the processing device, for a first listing matching the listing associated with the entity;

receiving, by the processing device from the first provider system, a provider-supplied external identifier associated with the first listing;

transmitting, by the processing device to the first provider system, a request to suppress the first listing from a search result generated in response to a search request submitted via the first provider system, the request to suppress the first listing comprising the provider-supplied external identifier;

receiving, by the processing device, from the first provider system, an acknowledgement to accept the request to suppress the first listing, wherein the acknowledgement comprises a confirmation that the first listing is suppressed as a duplicate listing;

receiving, from the first provider system, a file comprising a record corresponding to the first listing and a universal resource locator indicating the first listing is not in service via the first provider system;

extracting, from the file, the universal resource locator indicating the first listing is not in service; and

executing, by the processing device of the source system, a network request using the universal resource locator to verify the first listing associated with the entity is not in service via the first provider system.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, from the source system, information identifying the representative listing.

3. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the confidence score represents a level of matching between the first listing and the representative listing.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting information to the plurality of provider systems identifying the representative listing.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the request to suppress the first listing is transmitted to the first provider system via a periodic network-based communication.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising retrieving, from the database associated with the processing device, a list of provider systems maintaining at least one listing corresponding to the entity.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein in response to a user-generated search associated with the entity, search results comprise the representative listing.

8. A system comprising:

a memory storing instructions; and

a processing device operatively coupled to the memory, the processing device to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:

comparing, by a processing device of a source system, a first listing associated with an entity to a representative listing associated with the entity to determine a confidence score;

identifying the first listing as a duplicate listing in view of determining the confidence score is greater than or equal to a threshold level;

retrieving, from a database, a list of a plurality of provider systems that provide search results comprising the listing associated with the entity;

searching a first provider system of the plurality of provider systems, by the processing device, for a first listing matching the listing associated with the entity;

receiving, from the first provider system, a provider-supplied external identifier associated with the first listing;

transmitting, to the first provider system, a request to suppress the first listing from a search result generated in response to a search request submitted via the first provider system, the request to suppress the first listing comprising the provider-supplied external identifier;

receiving, by the processing device, from the first provider system, an acknowledgement to accept the request to suppress the first listing, wherein the acknowledgement comprises a confirmation that the first listing is suppressed as a duplicate listing;

receiving, from the first provider system, a file comprising a record corresponding to the first listing and a universal resource locator indicating the first listing is not in service via the first provider system;

extracting, from the file, the universal resource locator indicating the first listing is not in service; and

executing, by the source system, a network request using the universal resource locator to verify the first listing associated with the entity is not in service via the first provider system.

9. The system of claim 8 , the operations further comprising receiving information identifying the representative listing.

10. The system of claim 8 ,

wherein the confidence score represents a level of matching between the first listing and the representative listing.

11. The system of claim 8 , the operations further comprising transmitting information to the plurality of provider systems identifying the representative listing.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the request to suppress the first listing is transmitted to the first provider system via a periodic network-based communication.

13. The system of claim 8 , the operations further comprising retrieving, from the database associated with the processing device, a list of provider systems maintaining at least one listing corresponding to the entity.

14. The system of claim 8 , wherein in response to a user-generated search associated with the entity, search results comprise the representative listing.

15. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processing device of a source system, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:

comparing, by a processing device of a source system, a first listing associated with an entity to a representative listing associated with the entity to determine a confidence score;

identifying the first listing as a duplicate listing in view of determining the confidence score is greater than or equal to a threshold level;

retrieving, from a database, a list of a plurality of provider systems that provide search results comprising the listing associated with the entity;

searching a first provider system of the plurality of provider systems, by the processing device, for a first listing matching the listing associated with the entity;

receiving, by the processing device from the first provider system, a provider-supplied external identifier associated with the first listing;

transmitting, by the processing device to the first provider system, a request to suppress the first listing from a search result generated in response to a search request submitted via the first provider system, the request to suppress the first listing comprising the provider-supplied external identifier;

receiving, by the processing device, from the first provider system, an acknowledgement to accept the request to suppress the first listing, wherein the acknowledgement comprises a confirmation that the first listing is suppressed as a duplicate listing;

receiving, from the first provider system, a file comprising a record corresponding to the first listing and a universal resource locator indicating the first listing is not in service via the first provider system;

extracting, from the file, the universal resource locator indicating the first listing is not in service; and

executing, by the source system, a network request using the universal resource locator to verify the first listing associated with the entity is not in service via the first provider system.

16. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , further comprising receiving, from the source system, information identifying the representative listing.

17. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising:

determining the confidence score associated with the listing exceeds a threshold value, wherein the confidence score represents a level of matching between the first listing and the representative listing.

18. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising transmitting information to the plurality of provider systems identifying the representative listing.

19. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the request to suppress the first listing is transmitted to the first provider system via a periodic network-based communication.

20. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein in response to a user-generated search associated with the entity, search results comprise the representative listing.
