Abstract

The present invention related to compounds of Formula (I): or an agronomically acceptable salt thereof, wherein Q, X, Z, R 2 and R 3 areas described herein. The inventions further relates to compositions comprising said compounds, to methods of controlling weeds using said compositions, and to the use of Compounds of Formula (I) as a herbicide.

Claims (33)

1. A compound of Formula (I):

or an agronomically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:

R 2 is selected from the group consisting of halogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 3 -C 6 -cycloalkyl, C 1 -C 6 haloalkyl and —S(O) p C 1 -C 6 alkyl;

R 3 is selected from the group consisting of halogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 1 -C 6 haloalkyl and -S(O) p C 1 -C 6 alkyl;

Q is selected from the group consisting of Q 1 , Q 2 and Q 3 ;

R 1a is C 1 -C 4 alkyl- or C 1 -C 3 -alkoxy-C 1 -C 3 -alkyl-;

R 1b is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 alkyl- and C 1 -C 3 -alkoxy-C 1 -C 3 -alkyl-;

A 1 is selected from the group consisting of O, C(O) and (CR e R f );

R a , R b , R c , R d , R e and R f are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C 1 -C 4 alkyl wherein R a and R c may together form a C 1 -C 3 alkylene chain.

X is —(CH 2 ) n - or —(CH 2 ) n - O—(CH 2 ) n -;

n is independently selected from 0, 1 and 2;

Z is Z 1 or Z 2

R 4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 1 -C 6 haloalkyl and C 3 -C 6 cycloalkyl;

R 5 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl and C 1 -C 6 haloalkyl;

R 6 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 1 -C 6 haloalkyl, cyano and phenyl wherein the phenyl is optionally substituted by 1, 2 or 3 substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 1 -C 6 haloalkyl and C 1 -C 6 alkoxy; or

R 5 and R 6 together are —CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2, —CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 - or —CH 2 CH 2 OCH 2 CH 2 -; and

R 7 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C 1 -C 6 alkyl;

R 8 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, C 1 -C 6 -haloalkyl and C 3 -C 6 -cycloalkyl;

R 9 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, cyano, C 1 -C 6 alkyl and C 1 -C 6 alkoxy-; and

p=0, 1 or 2.

2. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 2 is selected from the group consisting of methyl, Cl, —CF 3 and —SO 2 methyl.

3. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 3 is selected from the group consisting of methyl, Cl, —CF 3 and —SO 2 methyl.

4. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl and n-propyl.

5. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein Q is Q 1 and Z is Z 1 .

6. The compound according to claim 5 , wherein X is —(CH 2 ) n - and n is 0.

7. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein Q is Q 2 and Z is Z 1 .

8. The compound according to claim 7 , wherein X is —CH 2 O—.

9. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein Q is Q 3 and Z is Z 1 .

10. The compound according to claim 1 , wherein Q is Q 1 and Z is Z 2 .

11. A herbicidal composition comprising a compound according to claim 1 and an agriculturally acceptable formulation adjuvant.

12. A herbicidal composition according to claim 11 , further comprising at least one additional pesticide.

13. A herbicidal composition according to claim 12 , wherein the additional pesticide is a herbicide or herbicide safener.

14. A method of controlling weeds at a locus comprising applying to the locus of a weed controlling amount of a composition according to claim 1 .
