Abstract

An autonomous pool cleaner includes a main body, a filter that is removably coupled to the main body, and an edge engagement assembly. The main body includes a top, a bottom, and one or more peripheral walls that extend between the top and the bottom. The filter is accessible for removal or installation via a particular peripheral wall of the one or more peripheral walls. The edge engagement assembly is configured to extend beyond the particular peripheral wall of the main body and removably secure the autonomous pool cleaner to an edge of a swimming pool so that the filter is accessible and vertically removable when the autonomous pool cleaner is secured to the edge.

Claims (9)

1. An autonomous pool cleaner comprising:

a. a main body comprising (i) a top, (ii) a first bottom, and (iii) a front peripheral wall extending between the top and the first bottom, wherein at least the top, the first bottom, and the front peripheral wall define an interior cavity within the main body; and

b. a filter (i) positioned at least partly within the interior cavity in use, (ii) removable from the interior cavity, and installable into the interior cavity, via the front peripheral wall, and (iii) comprising a second bottom; and

wherein the second bottom is located above the first bottom when the main body is upright and the filter is positioned at least partly within the interior cavity.

2. An autonomous pool cleaner according to claim 1 in which (a) the interior cavity has an upper section and (b) the filter is removable from, and installable into, the upper section of the interior cavity.

3. An autonomous pool cleaner according to claim 1 in which the second bottom defines an intake, further comprising an inlet conduit extending from the first bottom to the intake of the second bottom.

4. An autonomous pool cleaner according to claim 2 in which the filter further comprises a lock mechanism configured for locking the filter within the upper section of the interior cavity in use.

5. An autonomous pool cleaner according to claim 4 further comprising at least one rail configured to support the filter within the upper section of the interior cavity.

6. An autonomous pool cleaner according to claim 5 in which the lock mechanism is configured to engage the at least one rail when the filter is installed into the upper section of the interior cavity.
