Abstract

A system for updating a digital wallet installation is disclosed. Event information is received. The received event information is evaluated against a set of rules. A digital wallet asset logical instance to be updated is identified based at least in part on the evaluation. The identified instance is updated. An installation of a digital wallet asset associated with the identified instance is identified. An update instruction is provided to a device associated with the installation.

Claims (40)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

storing a mapping between a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a client device on which an installed digital pass is installed and a device identifier of the client device, the installed digital pass associated with a metadata tag;

receiving event information indicating that a set of one or more digital passes needs to be updated;

identifying, based on the metadata tag, the installed digital pass of the client device belonging to the set of one or more digital passes that need to be updated;

generating a payload including updated information with respect to one or more data fields in the installed digital pass;

identifying, using the mapping between the URL and the device identifier, the URL as a destination information for updating the installed digital pass; and

transmitting the payload to the URL.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the event information is transmitted from a point of sale platform.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the event information is transmitted from an issuer of the installed digital pass.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the event information is transmitted from the client device.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the event information includes device location information.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the payload includes one or more of the following: a media content, a key value pair, text, or an updated tag.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the payload includes text that is identified by one or more fields in the installed digital pass.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the updated information includes update instruction that causes the client device to transmit a call back request.

9. A system comprising:

one or more processors;

memory for storing computer code comprising instructions, the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processor to:

store a mapping between a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a client device on which an installed digital pass is installed and a device identifier of the client device, the installed digital pass associated with a metadata tag;

receive event information indicating that a set of one or more digital passes needs to be updated;

identify, based on the metadata tag, the installed digital pass of the client device belonging to the set of one or more digital passes that need to be updated;

generate a payload including updated information with respect to one or more data fields in the installed digital pass;

identify, using the mapping between the URL and the device identifier, the URL as a destination information for updating the installed digital pass; and

transmit the payload to the URL.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the event information is transmitted from a point of sale platform.

11. The system of claim 9 , wherein the event information is transmitted from an issuer of the installed digital pass.

12. The system of claim 9 , wherein the event information is transmitted from the client device.

13. The system of claim 9 , wherein the event information includes device location information.

14. The system of claim 9 , wherein the payload includes one or more of the following: a media content, a key value pair, text, or an updated tag.

15. The system of claim 9 , wherein the payload includes text that is identified by one or more fields in the installed digital pass.

16. The system of claim 9 , wherein the updated information includes update instruction that causes the client device to transmit a call back request.

17. A non-transitory computer readable medium for storing computer code comprising instructions, the instructions, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processor to:

store a mapping between a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a client device on which an installed digital pass is installed and a device identifier of the client device, the installed digital pass associated with a metadata tag;

receive event information indicating that a set of one or more digital passes needs to be updated;

identify, based on the metadata tag, the installed digital pass of the client device belonging to the set of one or more digital passes that need to be updated;

generate a payload including updated information with respect to one or more data fields in the installed digital pass;

identify, using the mapping between the URL and the device identifier, the URL as a destination information for updating the installed digital pass; and

transmit the payload to the URL.

18. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the event information is transmitted from a point of sale platform.

19. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the event information is transmitted from an issuer of the installed digital pass.

20. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the event information is transmitted from the client device.
