Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to a system that enables a mobile device running a mobile device application to communicate with different gaming establishment components and modify the mobile device application functionality and/or the mobile device application appearance based on different data received from different gaming establishment components.

Claims (32)

1. A system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

responsive to receipt of first mobile device application configuration data from a first component at a first location within a gaming establishment, communicate data that results in a mobile device displaying a first appearance of a mobile device application associated with the gaming establishment, the mobile device and the mobile device application each being separate and distinct from any electronic gaming machine and any electronic gaming machine application operable to display any wagering game; and

responsive to receipt of second, different mobile device application configuration data from a second component at a second, different location within the gaming establishment, communicate data that results in the mobile device displaying a second, different appearance of the mobile device application associated with the gaming establishment.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to communicate data that results the mobile device displaying the first appearance of the mobile device application associated with the gaming establishment responsive to an occurrence of a first mobile device application reconfiguration event based on the received first mobile device application configuration data and a configuration of the mobile device application of the mobile device.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to communicate data that results in the mobile device displaying the second, different appearance of the mobile device application associated with the gaming establishment responsive to an occurrence of a second mobile device application reconfiguration event based on the received second, different mobile device application configuration data and the configuration of the mobile device application of the mobile device.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first component is different from the second component.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first component and the second component comprise the mobile device.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first component and the second component comprises an electronic gaming machine in communication with the mobile device, a gaming terminal in communication with the mobile device and associated with a gaming table, a gaming establishment sports book kiosk in communication with the mobile device, and a point-of-sale terminal in communication with the mobile device and associated with a gaming establishment retail location.

7. A system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

responsive to receipt of first mobile device application configuration data from a first component at a first location within a gaming establishment, communicate data that results in a mobile device activating a function of a mobile device application, the mobile device and the mobile device application each being separate and distinct from any electronic gaming machine and any electronic gaming machine application operable to display any wagering game; and

responsive to receipt of second, different mobile device application configuration data from a second component at a second, different location within the gaming establishment, communicate data that results in the mobile device deactivating the function of the mobile device application.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to communicate data that results in the mobile device activating the function of the mobile device application responsive to an occurrence of a first mobile device application reconfiguration event based on the received first mobile device application configuration data and a configuration of the mobile device application of the mobile device.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to communicate data that results in the mobile device deactivating the function of the mobile device application responsive to an occurrence of a second mobile device application reconfiguration event based on the received second, different mobile device application configuration data and the configuration of the mobile device application of the mobile device.

10. The system of claim 7 , wherein the first component is different from the second component.

11. The system of claim 7 , wherein the first component and the second component comprise the mobile device.

12. The system of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the first component and the second component comprises an electronic gaming machine in communication with the mobile device, a gaming terminal in communication with the mobile device and associated with a gaming table, a gaming establishment sports book kiosk in communication with the mobile device, and a point-of-sale terminal in communication with the mobile device and associated with a gaming establishment retail location.

13. A system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

responsive to receipt of first mobile device application configuration data from a first component at a first location within a gaming establishment, communicate data that results in a mobile device application of a mobile device being associated with a first attribute, the mobile device and the mobile device application each being separate and distinct from any electronic gaming machine and any electronic gaming machine application operable to display any wagering game; and

responsive to receipt of second, different mobile device application configuration data from a second component at a second, different location within the gaming establishment, communicate data that results in the mobile device application of the mobile device being associated with a second, different attribute.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the first attribute comprises a first displayed appearance of the mobile device application and the second, different attribute comprises a second, different displayed appearance of the mobile device application.

15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the first attribute comprises an activation of a function of the mobile device application and the second, different attribute comprises a deactivation of the function of the mobile device application.

16. The system of claim 13 , wherein the mobile device application of the mobile device is associated with the first attribute responsive to an occurrence of a first mobile device application reconfiguration event based on the received first mobile device application configuration data and a configuration of the mobile device application of the mobile device.

17. The system of claim 16 , wherein the mobile device application of the mobile device is associated with the second, different attribute responsive to an occurrence of a second mobile device application reconfiguration event based on the received second, different mobile device application configuration data and the configuration of the mobile device application of the mobile device.

18. The system of claim 13 , wherein the first component is different from the second component.

19. The system of claim 13 , wherein the first component and the second component comprise the mobile device.

20. The system of claim 13 , wherein at least one of the first component and the second component comprises an electronic gaming machine in communication with the mobile device, a gaming terminal in communication with the mobile device and associated with a gaming table, a gaming establishment sports book kiosk in communication with the mobile device, and a point-of-sale terminal in communication with the mobile device and associated with a gaming establishment retail location.
