Methods for treating vascular leak syndrome and cancer
Disclosed are methods for treating Vascular Leak Syndrome and preventing cancer metastasis. Further disclosed are methods for treating vascular leakage due to inflammatory diseases, sepsis, cancer or the presence of pathogens.
1. A method for treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject (i) an HPTPβ-ECD binding agent, wherein the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent is R15E6 or a humanized form thereof, in a therapeutically effective amount to reduce vascular leak syndrome in the subject, and (ii) one or more anti-cancer agents that induce vascular leak syndrome in the subject.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering of the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent and the one or more anti-cancer agents reduces cancer metastasis in the subject.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering of the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent stabilizes a vasculature of the subject.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent inhibits HPTPβ.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering of the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent is by intravenous injection.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering of the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent is by subcutaneous injection.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent is the humanized form of R15E6.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the humanized form of R15E6 is a multi-specific antibody.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the humanized form of R15E6 is a bispecific antibody.
10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the anti-cancer agent is IL-2.
11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject has leukemia, a lymphoma, an astrocytoma, a glioma, a carcinoma, or a sarcoma.
12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent and the one or more anti-cancer agents are administered together.
13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the HPTPβ-ECD binding agent and the one or more anti-cancer agents are administered sequentially in any order.
