Abstract

A display apparatus and a computing apparatus including the same are provided. A display apparatus includes: a display module including a display panel configured to display an image, a system rear cover covering a rear surface of the display module, a vibration plate between the system rear cover and the rear surface of the display module, and a vibration module configured to vibrate the vibration plate, wherein the display panel is further configured to vibrate based on a vibration of the vibration plate to output sound.

Claims (129)

1. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display module comprising a display panel configured to display an image;

a vibration plate at a rear surface of the display module;

a vibration module configured to vibrate the vibration plate;

an air gap between the rear surface of the display module and the vibration plate;

a member between the rear surface of the display module and the vibration plate, the member providing the air gap; and

a buffer member disposed at the vibration plate between the vibration module and the member in the air gap,

wherein the display module includes:

a panel guide at a rear surface of the display panel,

a supporting cover accommodating the panel guide, and

a backlight accommodated in the supporting cover, and

wherein the display panel is further configured to vibrate by a vibration of the vibration plate to generate sound, and

wherein a height of the buffer member is greater than a height of the vibration module with respect to a front surface of the vibration plate.

2. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:

the supporting cover includes a cover plate; and

the cover plate is configured to support the panel guide and includes an opening overlapping a portion except for a periphery of the display panel.

3. The display apparatus of claim 2 , wherein:

the vibration plate is attached to the cover plate by the member; and

the member is between a periphery of the vibration plate and the cover plate.

4. The display apparatus of claim 2 , wherein:

the vibration plate includes a rear surface toward the cover plate and the front surface opposite to the rear surface; and

the vibration module is attached to the front surface of the vibration plate.

5. The display apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the vibration module overlaps with the opening of the cover plate.

6. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:

the vibration plate is attached to the supporting cover by the member; and

the member is between a periphery of the vibration plate and the supporting cover.

7. The display apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:

a system rear cover configured to cover a side surface and the rear surface of the display module; and

an absorption member between a rear surface of the vibration plate and the system rear cover,

wherein the rear surface of the vibration plate is opposite to the front surface of the vibration plate.

8. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the vibration module includes a first vibration element and a second vibration element at the vibration plate and having a piezoelectric material layer.

9. The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein:

the buffer member is disposed around the first vibration element and the second vibration element; and

the height of the buffer member is higher than a height of each of the first vibration element and the second vibration element with respect to the front surface of the vibration plate.

10. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the backlight includes:

a reflective sheet on the vibration plate;

a light guide plate at the reflective sheet;

a light source part irradiating a light to the light guide plate; and

at least one optical sheet part at the light guide member.

11. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:

the display module further comprises a printed circuit board connected to the display panel, and

the printed circuit board is configured to be connected to the vibration module.

12. The display apparatus of claim 11 , wherein:

the display module further comprises a main board connected to the printed circuit board,

the main board includes a sound processing circuit to generate a sound signal, and

the vibration module receives a sound driving signal corresponding to the sound signal from the printed circuit board.

13. The display apparatus of claim 11 , wherein:

the display module further comprises an audio amplifier amplifying the sound signal to generate the sound driving signal, and

the audio amplifier is disposed at the printed circuit board or the main board.

14. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display module comprising a display panel configured to display an image;

a vibration plate at a rear surface of the display module;

a vibration module configured to vibrate the vibration plate; and

a pad at the vibration plate adjacent to the vibration module without overlapping the vibration module,

wherein vibration module and the pad are attached to one surface of the vibration plate,

wherein a height of the pad with respect to the one surface of the vibration plate is greater than a height of the vibration module with respect to the one surface of the vibration plate, and

wherein the display panel is further configured to vibrate by a vibration of the vibration plate to generate sound.

15. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

a rear cover configured to cover a side surface and the rear surface of the display module,

wherein the pad and the vibration module are between the vibration plate and the rear cover.

16. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the pad is between the vibration plate and a rear surface of the display panel.

17. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

a rear cover at a rear surface of the vibration plate,

wherein the pad is between the vibration plate and the rear cover.

18. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the pad includes a line shape or a dot shape, or the pad includes a polygonal shape or a circular shape surrounding the vibration module.

19. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the vibration module includes:

a vibration element at the one surface of the vibration plate and having a piezoelectric material layer; and

a cushion pad attached to the vibration element; and

a size of the cushion pad is larger than a size of the vibration element.

20. The display apparatus of claim 19 , wherein:

the vibration plate is attached to the rear surface of the display module; and

the vibration module is not connected to the vibration plate via the pad.

21. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein an upper surface of the pad is between an upper surface of the vibration module and the rear surface of the display module.

22. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

an air gap between the vibration plate and the display module,

wherein a height of the pad is greater than a height of the vibration module in the air gap.

23. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

a rear cover at a rear surface of the vibration plate,

wherein an upper surface of the pad is between an upper surface of the vibration module and a front surface of the rear cover.

24. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

a rear cover at a rear surface of the vibration plate; and

an air gap between the vibration plate and the rear cover.

25. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising a cushion pad configured to cover the vibration module.

26. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

a rear cover at a rear surface of the vibration plate,

wherein the vibration module includes:

a vibration element attached to a rear surface of the vibration plate facing the rear cover, and

a cushion pad attached to an upper surface of the vibration element facing the rear cover.

27. The display apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:

a member between the vibration plate and the rear surface of the display module,

wherein a height of the member is greater than a distance between the vibration module and the rear surface of the display module.

28. The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the display module further comprises a printed circuit board connected to the display panel, and

the printed circuit board is configured to be connected to the vibration module.

29. The display apparatus of claim 28 , wherein:

the display module further comprises a main board connected to the printed circuit board,

the main board includes a sound processing circuit to generate a sound signal, and

the vibration module receives a sound driving signal corresponding to the sound signal from the printed circuit board.

30. The display apparatus of claim 28 , wherein:

the display module further comprises an audio amplifier amplifying the sound signal to generate the sound driving signal, and

the audio amplifier is disposed at the printed circuit board or the main board.

31. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display module comprising a display panel configured to display an image;

a vibration plate at a rear surface of the display module;

a vibration module configured to vibrate the vibration plate;

a system rear cover configured to cover a side surface and the rear surface of the display module;

a first air gap between the rear surface of the display module and the vibration plate;

a second air gap between the vibration plate and the system rear cover; and

a buffer member at the vibration plate adjacent to the vibration module without overlapping the vibration module,

wherein vibration module and the buffer member are attached to one surface of the vibration plate,

wherein a height of the buffer member with respect to the one surface of the vibration plate is greater than a height of the vibration module with respect to the one surface of the vibration plate, and

wherein the display panel is configured to vibrate by a vibration of the vibration plate to generate sound.

32. The display apparatus of claim 31 , further comprising:

a member between the rear surface of the display module and the vibration plate, the member surrounding the first air gap,

wherein the vibration plate is between the system rear cover and the display module.

33. The display apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the buffer member and the vibration module are disposed in the first air gap or in the second air gap.

34. The display apparatus of claim 33 , wherein a height of the buffer member with respect the one surface of the vibration plate is greater than a height of the vibration module with respect to the one surface of the vibration plate.

35. The display apparatus of claim 31 , further comprising a cover plate at a rear surface of the vibration plate, the cover plate being between the vibration plate and the display module.

36. The display apparatus of claim 31 , wherein:

the display module further comprises a printed circuit board connected to the display panel, and

the printed circuit board is configured to be connected to the vibration module.

37. The display apparatus of claim 36 , wherein:

the display module further comprises a main board connected to the printed circuit board,

the main board includes a sound processing circuit to generate a sound signal, and

the vibration module receives a sound driving signal corresponding to the sound signal from the printed circuit board.

38. The display apparatus of claim 36 , wherein:

the display module further comprises an audio amplifier amplifying the sound signal to generate the sound driving signal, and

the audio amplifier is disposed at the printed circuit board or the main board.
