Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for performing loading articles onto and/or into an object comprising positions at which the articles can be loaded. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing a digital model of the object comprising the positions as selectable; receiving selection of positions; responsive to receiving the selection, for each selected position: providing a list of articles that can be loaded at the position in which each article is selectable; and receiving selection of articles from the list; responsive to receiving the selection, recording the articles for the position; receiving an indication to generate a digital workflow for loading the articles onto and/or into the object; and responsive to receiving the indication: generating the digital workflow based on the articles selected for each position that includes procedures to be performed to load the articles onto and/or into the object.

Claims (93)

1 . A method for performing at least one of loading a plurality of articles onto and into an object comprising a plurality of positions at which the plurality of articles can be loaded via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access via an IETM viewer to technical documentation for an item, the method comprising:

providing a digital model of the object for display via the IETM viewer executing on a user computing entity being used by a user, the digital model comprising the plurality of positions as selectable;

receiving input of selection of one or more of the plurality of positions, wherein the selection of the one or more of the plurality of positions is performed by the user via the IETM viewer;

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the one or more of the plurality of positions, for each selected position:

providing a list of articles that can be loaded at the selected position to be displayed on the window in which each of the articles in the list of articles is selectable; and

receiving input of selection of one or more articles from the list of articles, wherein the selection of the one or more articles is performed by the user via the IETM viewer;

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the one or more articles, recording the one or more articles for the selected position, wherein the one or more articles are found in the plurality of articles;

receiving input of an indication to generate a digital workflow for at least one of loading the plurality of articles onto and into the object, the indication being provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the indication to generate the digital workflow:

generating the digital workflow based on the one or more articles selected by the user from the list of articles displayed for each selected position; and

providing the digital workflow for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the digital workflow comprises a plurality of procedures to be performed to at least one of load the plurality of articles onto and into the object, and each of the plurality of procedures comprises a plurality of operations to be performed to at least one of load an article in the plurality of articles onto and into the object at one of the selected positions.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of procedures are identified in the digital workflow in a sequence in which the plurality of procedures are to be performed to at least one of load the plurality of articles onto and into the object.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein each of the plurality of procedures is selectable and the method further comprises:

receiving input of a selection of a particular procedure in the plurality of procedures, wherein the selection of the particular procedure is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular procedure:

determining whether the particular procedure in the plurality of procedures is a next procedure to be performed in the sequence; and

responsive to the particular procedure being the next procedure to be performed in the sequence, providing the plurality of operations for the particular procedure for display via the IETM viewer.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of procedures is selectable and the method further comprises:

receiving input of a selection of a particular procedure in the plurality of procedures, wherein the selection of the particular procedure is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular procedure, providing the plurality of operations for the particular procedure for display via the IETM viewer.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein each of the plurality of operations for the particular procedure is displayed with an acknowledgement mechanism that is selectable and the method further comprises:

receiving input of an indication of completion of the particular procedure, wherein the indication of completion of the particular procedure is provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the indication of completion of the particular procedure:

determining whether the acknowledgement mechanism has been selected by the user for each of the plurality of operations; and

responsive to determining the acknowledgement mechanism has been selected by the user for each of the plurality of operations, causing the particular procedure to display as completed in the digital workflow.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein causing the particular procedure to display as completed in the digital workflow comprises causing display of the particular procedure in the digital workflow along with an indicator identifying the particular procedure as completed.

7 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving input of an indication of a completion of the plurality of procedures, wherein the indication of the completion of the plurality of procedures is provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the indication of the completion of the plurality of procedures:

recording one or more images of the object loaded with the plurality of articles at the selected positions; and

recording a completion of the workflow in an electronic log.

An apparatus for performing at least one of loading a plurality of articles onto and into an object comprising a plurality of positions at which the plurality of articles can be loaded via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access via an IETM viewer to technical documentation for an item, the apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including a computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:

provide a digital model of the object for display via the IETM viewer executing on a user computing entity being used by a user, the digital model comprising the plurality of positions as selectable;

receive input of selection of one or more of the plurality of positions, wherein the selection of the one or more of the plurality of positions is performed by the user via the IETM viewer;

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the one or more of the plurality of positions, for each selected position:

provide a list of articles that can be loaded at the selected position to be displayed on the window in which each of the articles in the list of articles is selectable; and

receive input of selection of one or more articles from the list of articles, wherein the selection of the one or more articles is performed by the user via the IETM viewer;

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the one or more articles, record the one or more articles for the selected position, wherein the one or more articles are found in the plurality of articles;

receive input of an indication to generate a digital workflow for at least one of loading the plurality of articles onto and into the object, the indication being provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the indication to generate the digital workflow:

generate the digital workflow based on the one or more articles selected by the user from the list of articles displayed for each selected position; and

provide the digital workflow for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the digital workflow comprises a plurality of procedures to be performed to at least one of load the plurality of articles onto and into the object, and each of the plurality of procedures comprises a plurality of operations to be performed to at least one of load an article in the plurality of articles onto and into the object at one of the selected positions.

9 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of procedures are identified in the digital workflow in a sequence in which the plurality of procedures are to be performed to at least one of load the plurality of articles onto and into the object.

10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein each of the plurality of procedures is selectable and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:

receive input of a selection of a particular procedure in the plurality of procedures, wherein the selection of the particular procedure is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular procedure:

determine whether the particular procedure in the plurality of procedures is a next procedure to be performed in the sequence; and

responsive to the particular procedure being the next procedure to be performed in the sequence, provide the plurality of operations for the particular procedure for display via the IETM viewer.

11 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein each of the plurality of procedures is selectable and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:

receive input of a selection of a particular procedure in the plurality of procedures, wherein the selection of the particular procedure is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular procedure, provide the plurality of operations for the particular procedure for display via the IETM viewer.

The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of operations for the particular procedure is displayed with an acknowledgement mechanism that is selectable and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:

receive input of an indication of completion of the particular procedure, wherein the indication of completion of the particular procedure is provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the indication of completion of the particular procedure:

determine whether the acknowledgement mechanism has been selected by the user for each of the plurality of operations; and

responsive to determining the acknowledgement mechanism has been selected by the user for each of the plurality of operations, cause the particular procedure to display as completed in the digital workflow.

The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to cause the particular procedure to display as completed in the digital workflow by causing display of the particular procedure in the digital workflow along with an indicator identifying the particular procedure as completed.

14 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:

receive input of an indication of a completion of the plurality of procedures, wherein the indication of the completion of the plurality of procedures is provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the indication of the completion of the plurality of procedures:

record one or more images of the object loaded with the plurality of articles at the selected positions; and

record a completion of the workflow in an electronic log.

15 . A non-transitory computer storage medium comprising instructions for performing at least one of loading a plurality of articles onto and into an object comprising a plurality of positions at which the plurality of articles can be loaded via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access via an IETM viewer to technical documentation for an item, the instructions being configured to cause one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:

provide a digital model of the object for display via the IETM viewer executing on a user computing entity being used by a user, the digital model comprising the plurality of positions as selectable;

receive input of selection of one or more of the plurality of positions, wherein the selection of the one or more of the plurality of positions is performed by the user via the IETM viewer;

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the one or more of the plurality of positions, for each selected position:

provide a list of articles that can be loaded at the selected position to be displayed on the window in which each of the articles in the list of articles is selectable; and

receive input of selection of one or more articles from the list of articles, wherein the selection of the one or more articles is performed by the user via the IETM viewer;

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the one or more articles, record the one or more articles for the selected position, wherein the one or more articles are found in the plurality of articles;

receive input of an indication to generate a digital workflow for at least one of loading the plurality of articles onto and into the object, the indication being provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the indication to generate the digital workflow:

generate the digital workflow based on the one or more articles selected by the user from the list of articles displayed for each selected position; and

provide the digital workflow for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the digital workflow comprises a plurality of procedures to be performed to at least one of load the plurality of articles onto and into the object, and each of the plurality of procedures comprises a plurality of operations to be performed to at least one of load an article in the plurality of articles onto and into the object at one of the selected positions.

16 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of procedures are identified in the digital workflow in a sequence in which the plurality of procedures are to be performed to at least one of load the plurality of articles onto and into the object.

17 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 16 , wherein each of the plurality of procedures is selectable and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:

receive input of a selection of a particular procedure in the plurality of procedures, wherein the selection of the particular procedure is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular procedure:

determine whether the particular procedure in the plurality of procedures is a next procedure to be performed in the sequence; and

responsive to the particular procedure being the next procedure to be performed in the sequence, provide the plurality of operations for the particular procedure for display via the IETM viewer.

18 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 15 , wherein each of the plurality of procedures is selectable and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:

receive input of a selection of a particular procedure in the plurality of procedures, wherein the selection of the particular procedure is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular procedure, provide the plurality of operations for the particular procedure for display via the IETM viewer.

The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 18 , wherein each of the plurality of operations for the particular procedure is displayed with an acknowledgement mechanism that is selectable and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:

receive input of an indication of completion of the particular procedure, wherein the indication of completion of the particular procedure is provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the indication of completion of the particular procedure:

determine whether the acknowledgement mechanism has been selected by the user for each of the plurality of operations; and

responsive to determining the acknowledgement mechanism has been selected by the user for each of the plurality of operations, cause the particular procedure to display as completed in the digital workflow.

The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 19 , wherein the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to cause the particular procedure to display as completed in the digital workflow by causing display of the particular procedure in the digital workflow along with an indicator identifying the particular procedure as completed.

21 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:

receive input of an indication of a completion of the plurality of procedures, wherein the indication of the completion of the plurality of procedures is provided by the user via the IETM viewer; and

responsive to receiving the input of the indication of the completion of the plurality of procedures:

record one or more images of the object loaded with the plurality of articles at the selected positions; and

record a completion of the workflow in an electronic log.
