Abstract

An example system creates a video based on a user's financial profile for a specified time period and displays the video on a virtual reality device to help the user visualize the user's financial decisions resulting in the user's current financial status as well as visualize the user's predicted financial status in the future. The system analyzes the user's historical financial transactional data, profile information and relevant market and peer information to extract and predict one or more data points regarding the user's financial profile from the past, present and the future. The system generates a video about the user's financial profile by creating a storyline based on the one or more data points.

Claims (62)

1. A method implemented on an electronic computing device for creating a video based on a user's financial profile, the method comprising:

receiving historical financial data associated with the user;

receiving personal data associated with the user;

analyzing the historical financial data and the personal data to extract a plurality of data points;

predicting a future financial status of the user based on the plurality of data points;

generating a storyline about the user's financial profile by using the plurality of data points and the future financial status, wherein the storyline includes one or more entities and characters;

identifying one or more past investments with undesirable outcomes;

generating one or more recommendations regarding a future investment strategy that avoid the undesirable outcomes from the one or more past investments;

determining one or more visual representations for each of the one or more entities and characters from the storyline, wherein a visual representation for a character representing the user is dynamically altered based on the historical financial data and personal data associated with the user;

creating a video of the user's financial profile by feeding the generated storyline and visual representations into a plurality of template video frames;

sending the video of the user's financial profile and the one or more recommendations for display on the user's virtual reality device;

creating one or more placeholder video frames to fill in a gap between a current time and the user's future financial status, wherein the one or more placeholder video frames are blank video frames;

sending the placeholder video frames to the user's virtual reality device;

receiving input regarding the placeholder video frames from the user's virtual reality device;

using the received input, predicting additional data points associated with the user's future financial status;

revising the generated storyline based on the additional data points;

creating a revised plurality of video frames, including replacing the blank video frames with the additional data points; and

sending the revised plurality of video frames to the user's virtual reality device.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the historical financial data includes data associated with the user's historical financial transaction information.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the personal data includes demographical, biometric, biological and lifestyle information.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising external data that includes one or more of: market information, peer information, and benchmark information.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining the one or more entities by categorizing the historical financial data into a plurality of categories; and

analyzing the user's incurred expenses in each of the plurality of categories.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining the one or more characters by determining the user's dependent information based on the historical financial data and personal data.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving biometric data associated with the user from the user's virtual reality device; and

authenticating the user based on the biometric data.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising permitting the user to manually adjust storylines.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the visual representations include one or more of animated figures, cartoons, and human figures.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a time period, wherein the video is created based on the user's financial profile for the time period.

11. An electronic computing device comprising:

a processing unit; and

system memory, the system memory including instruction which, when executed by the processing unit cause the electronic computing device to:

receive historical financial data associated with the user; receive personal data associated with the user;

receive external data;

analyze the received historical financial data and personal data to extract a first plurality of data points;

compare the analyzed data with the external data to predict a second plurality of data points;

predict a future financial status of the user based on the first plurality of data points and the second plurality of data points;

generate a storyline based on the first plurality of data points, the second plurality of data points, and the predicted future financial status, wherein the storyline includes one or more entities and characters;

identify one or more past investments with undesirable outcomes;

generate one or more recommendations regarding a future investment strategy that avoid the undesirable outcomes from the one or more past investments;

determine one or more visual representations for each of the one or more entities and characters from the storyline, wherein a visual representation for a character representing the user is dynamically altered based on the historical financial data and personal data associated with the user;

create a plurality of video frames by feeding the storyline and the visual representations into a plurality of template video frames;

send the plurality of video frames and the one or more recommendations for display on the user's virtual reality device;

create one or more placeholder video frames to fill in a gap between a current time and the user's future financial status, wherein the one or more placeholder video frames are blank video frames;

send the placeholder video frames to the user's virtual reality device;

receive input regarding the placeholder video frames from the user's virtual reality device;

use the received input, predicting additional data points associated with the user's future financial status;

revise the generated storyline based on the additional data points;

create a revised plurality of video frames, including replacing the blank video frames with the additional data points; and

send the revised plurality of video frames to the user's virtual reality device.

12. The electronic computing device of claim 11 , wherein the historical financial data includes data associated with the user's historical financial transaction information.

13. The electronic computing device of claim 11 , wherein the personal data includes demographical, biometric, biological and lifestyle information.

14. The electronic computing device of claim 11 , wherein the external data includes one or more of: market information, peer information, and benchmark information.

15. The electronic computing device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing unit, further cause the electronic computing device to:

determine the one or more entities by categorizing the historical financial data into a plurality of categories and analyzing the user's incurred expenses in each of the plurality of categories.

16. The electronic computing device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing unit, further cause the electronic computing device to:

determine the one or more characters by determining the user's dependent information based on the historical financial data and the personal data.

17. The electronic computing device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions when executed by the processing unit further causes the electronic computing device to:

receive biometric data associated with the user from the user's virtual reality device; and

authenticate the user based on the received biometric data.
