Abstract

The present technology relates to a hemostasis sealing device having a device enclosure with a first seal portion for a medical device and a second seal portion for guide wire sealing. The device enclosure can be generally configured for compressive communication with a housing. The second seal portion can define a split that is in compressive communication with structural elements of the hemostasis sealing device, which can simultaneously provide sealing functionality and allow passage of relatively large-bore devices.

one or more support ribs extending toward an outer rib surface, wherein the outer rib surface is configured for compressive interfacing with a housing inner surface of the housing;

a first split extending along a first lateral axis through one or more of the first seal portion or the second seal portion, wherein the first split extends for a first dimension along the longitudinal axis;

a second split extending along a second lateral axis through one or more of the first seal portion or the second seal portion, wherein:

the second lateral axis is offset from the first lateral axis; and

the second split extends for a second dimension along the longitudinal axis, the second dimension different than the first dimension; and

wherein the one or more support ribs are configured to transmit compressive forces to one or more of the first split or the second split.

2. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 1 , wherein the first lateral axis is angled with respect to the second lateral axis.

3. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 2 , wherein the offset between the first lateral axis and the second lateral axis is 90 degrees.

4. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 1 , wherein the first split extends from a distal end of the hemostasis sealing device to near, but not entirely through, a proximal end of the hemostasis sealing device.

5. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 1 , wherein the first split is longitudinally offset from the second split along the longitudinal axis.

6. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 1 , further comprising a barrel extending from the second seal portion.

7. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 6 , wherein:

the barrel includes a barrel opening surrounded by an inner perimeter of the barrel;

the barrel extends from a distal end of the second seal portion;

the barrel opening is aligned with the second seal opening; and

the barrel includes a barrel wall tapering from near the second seal opening to a distal end of the barrel.

8. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 7 , wherein the inner perimeter of the barrel is spaced from the second seal opening within the barrel opening.

9. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 8 , wherein the second seal extends between the second seal opening and the barrel opening.

10. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 1 , further comprising the housing.

11. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 10 , wherein:

the housing includes the inner housing wall extending around a passageway;

the passageway is configured for reception of the hemostasis sealing device; and

the outer rib surface is compressively interfaced with the inner housing wall.

12. A hemostasis sealing device configured for reception in a housing, the device comprising:

a first seal portion having a first seal opening extending along a longitudinal axis of the device and through the first seal portion, the first seal portion is configured for device sealing;

a second seal portion distal to the first seal portion, wherein:

the second seal portion is configured for sealing engagement with a guidewire; and

the second seal portion includes a second seal opening extending along the longitudinal axis of the device and through the second seal portion;

one or more support ribs extending toward an outer rib surface, wherein the outer rib surface is configured for compressive interfacing with a housing inner surface of the housing;

a first split extending along a first lateral axis through one or more of the first seal portion or the second seal portion, wherein the first split extends for a first dimension along the longitudinal axis;

a second split extending along a second lateral axis through one or more of the first seal portion or the second seal portion, wherein:

the second lateral axis is angularly offset relative to the first lateral axis; and

the second split extends for a second dimension along the longitudinal axis, the second dimension different than the first dimension; and

wherein the one or more support ribs are configured to transmit compressive forces to one or more of the first split or the second split.

13. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 12 , wherein the first seal portion is separate from the second seal portion.

14. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 13 , comprising a device enclosure including one or more of the first and second seal portions, wherein the device enclosure includes a device cavity interposed between the first seal opening and the second seal opening.

15. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 12 , wherein:

wherein the first split is offset from the second split along the longitudinal axis.

16. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 12 , further comprising the housing.

17. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 12 , wherein:

the housing includes the inner housing wall extending around a passageway;

the passageway is configured for reception of the hemostasis sealing device; and

the outer rib surface is compressively interfaced with the inner housing wall.

18. The hemostasis sealing device of claim 17 , further comprising a support ring coupled with the first seal portion, wherein the support ring is received by a ring receptacle of the housing.

19. A hemostasis sealing device, comprising:
