Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a wearable monitor device and methods and systems for using such a device. In certain embodiments, the wearable monitor records cardiac data from a mammal and extracts particular features of interest. These features are then transmitted and used to provide health-related information about the mammal.

Claims (38)

1. A method of monitoring the physiological data of a mammal using a wearable monitor, comprising:

providing a wearable patch, the wearable patch comprising a rigid housing comprising a hardware processor configured to continuously store cardiac signals, the rigid housing mounted onto a first adhesive assembly, the first adhesive assembly comprising:

a flexible substrate, the flexible substrate comprising a bottom surface comprising an adhesive, the adhesive configured to adhere to the skin of the mammal, and

a plurality of electrodes positioned on the flexible substrate, each electrode electrically connected to the rigid housing by an electrode trace extending from the electrode to the housing;

wherein the wearable patch is configured to wirelessly transmit the cardiac signals to a computing system configured to

analyze the cardiac signals to infer a likelihood of a cardiac arrhythmia originating in the past;

after a period of wear, detaching the wearable patch from the surface of the mammal;

removing the rigid housing from the first adhesive assembly;

mounting the rigid housing onto a second adhesive assembly; and

applying the second adhesive assembly to the skin of the mammal or the skin of another mammal.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive assembly has no more than two electrodes.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the computing system comprises a gateway.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the period of wear is for at least 14 days.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the period of wear is for at least 7 days.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the period of wear is for less than 7 days.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first adhesive assembly and the second adhesive assembly each comprise a transmitter, the transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit the cardiac signals to the computing system.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first adhesive assembly and the second adhesive assembly each comprise a plurality of flexible wings, each flexible wing comprising an electrode.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cardiac signals are transmitted to the computing system on a periodic basis.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising modifying the hardware processor while the rigid housing is removed from the first adhesive assembly.

11. A method of monitoring the physiological data of a mammal using a wearable monitor, comprising:

providing a wearable patch, the wearable patch comprising a rigid housing comprising a hardware processor configured to continuously store cardiac signals, the rigid housing mounted onto an adhesive assembly, the adhesive assembly comprising:

a flexible substrate, the flexible substrate comprising a bottom surface comprising an adhesive, the adhesive configured to adhere to the skin of the mammal, and

a plurality of electrodes positioned on the flexible substrate, each electrode electrically connected to the rigid housing by an electrode trace extending from the electrode to the housing;

wherein the wearable patch is configured to wirelessly transmit the cardiac signals to a computing system configured to

analyze the cardiac signals to infer a likelihood of a cardiac arrhythmia originating in the past;

after a period of wear, detaching the wearable patch from the surface of the mammal;

removing the rigid housing from the adhesive assembly;

mounting the rigid housing back onto the adhesive assembly; and

applying the adhesive assembly to the skin of the mammal or the skin of another mammal.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the adhesive assembly has no more than two electrodes.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the computing system comprises a gateway.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the period of wear is for at least 14 days.

15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the period of wear is for at least 7 days.

16. The method of claim 11 , wherein the period of wear is for less than 7 days.

17. The method of claim 11 , wherein the adhesive assembly comprises a transmitter, the transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit the cardiac signals to the computing system.

18. The method of claim 11 , wherein the adhesive assembly comprises a plurality of flexible wings, each flexible wing comprising an electrode.

19. The method of claim 11 , wherein the cardiac signals are transmitted to the computing system on a periodic basis.

20. The method of claim 11 , further comprising modifying the hardware processor while the rigid housing is removed from the adhesive assembly.
