Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes a frame having a first metal plate and a second metal plate where the first metal plate has a recess portion. The frame supports an image forming member that forms an image on a sheet. The first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other and an adhesive is in a space formed between the recess portion and the second metal plate. The space is such that it receives the adhesive by injection.

Claims (52)

1. An image forming apparatus comprising:

a frame configured to support an image forming member configured to form an image on a sheet,

wherein the frame includes a first metal plate and a second metal plate,

wherein the first metal plate has a recess portion,

wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other and an adhesive is in a space formed between the recess portion and the second metal plate, and

wherein the second metal plate has an opening portion configured to receive the adhesive when the adhesive is injected into the space.

2. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a cover which is mounted to the frame and is configured to cover the frame,

wherein the cover is mounted to the frame to cover the opening portion.

The image forming apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein, when the first metal plate and the second metal plate are fixed to each other, a cross section of the space between the recess portion and the second metal plate has a trapezoidal shape formed by a flat portion of the recess portion, a flat portion of the second metal plate, and inclined portions provided on both sides of the flat portion of the recess portion.

4. The image forming apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein a distance between a positioning portion that positions the first metal plate and the second metal plate and the recess portion in a horizontal direction is equal to or smaller than 30 mm.

5. The image forming apparatus according to claim 3 ,

wherein the opening portion is formed at a position opposed to the recess portion,

wherein the first metal plate is provided with an injection receiving portion to receive injected adhesive vertically below the opening portion, and

wherein a gap between the flat portion of the recess portion and a vertically upper end portion of the injection receiving portion is larger than a gap between the flat portion of the recess portion and a portion of the second metal plate which is opposed to the flat portion.

6. The image forming apparatus according to claim 2 ,

wherein, when the first metal plate and the second metal plate are fixed to each other, a cross section of the recess portion has an opposed portion to be opposed to a flat portion of the second metal plate, and inclined portions provided on both sides of the opposed portion, and

wherein a plurality of groove portions are formed on the opposed portion to extend in a vertical direction.

7. The image forming apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the recess portion has an inclined surface connecting a vertically lower end portion of the opposed portion and the second metal plate opposed to the opposed portion of the recess portion.

The image forming apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein a vertically upper end portion of the second metal plate fixed to the first metal plate is located at a position lower than a vertically upper end portion of the recess portion, and is inclined in a direction away from the recess portion.

9. The image forming apparatus according to claim 2 ,

wherein the recess portion has a recess portion shape,

wherein the recess portion is one of a conical shape and a polygonal pyramid shape, and

wherein the second metal plate has a hole portion as the opening portion at a position opposed to an apex of the recess portion shape.

10. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other by at least one of a screw or a rivet, and

wherein each screw and rivet have electroconductivity.

11. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate have welds between them to be positioned to each other.

12. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the adhesive has a viscosity falling within a range of from 3,000 mPa·s to 10,000 mPa·s.

13. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other by inserting a screw in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the second metal plate.

14. An image forming apparatus comprising:

a frame configured to support an image forming member configured to form an image on a sheet,

wherein the frame includes a first metal plate and a second metal plate,

wherein the first metal plate has a recess portion,

wherein, when viewed in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the second metal plate, a first part of the recess portion overlaps the second metal plate and a second part of the recess portion exposes from an edge of the second metal plate, and

wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other and an adhesive is in a space formed between the first part of the recess portion and the second metal plate.

15. The image forming apparatus according to claim 14 , wherein the edge of the second metal plate is an inclined portion inclined in a direction away from a surface of the first metal plate.

16. The image forming apparatus according to claim 14 , wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other by inserting a screw in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the second metal plate.

17. A sheet conveyance apparatus comprising:

a frame configured to support a conveyance member configured to convey a sheet,

wherein the frame includes a first metal plate and a second metal plate,

wherein the first metal plate has a recess portion,

wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other and an adhesive is in a space formed between the recess portion and the second metal plate, and

wherein the second metal plate has an opening portion configured to receive the adhesive when the adhesive is injected into the space.

18. The sheet conveyance apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other by inserting a screw in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the second metal plate.

19. A sheet conveyance apparatus comprising:

a frame configured to support a conveyance member configured to convey a sheet,

wherein the frame includes a first metal plate and a second metal plate,

wherein the first metal plate has a recess portion,

wherein, when viewed in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the second metal plate, a first part of the recess portion overlaps the second metal plate and a second part of the recess portion exposes from an edge of the second metal plate, and

wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other and an adhesive is in a space formed between the first part of the recess portion and the second metal plate.

20. The sheet conveyance apparatus according to claim 19 , wherein the edge of the second metal plate is an inclined portion inclined in a direction away from a surface of the first metal plate.

21. The sheet conveyance apparatus according to claim 19 , wherein the first metal plate and the second metal plate are positioned to each other by inserting a screw in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the second metal plate.
