Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method for determination of a real subsoil geological formation. In at least one embodiment, the method includes receiving a model representing the real subsoil, receiving a proportions cube describing geological properties of the model, determining a permeability value for a plurality of locations of the model based on the received proportions cube, determining a gradient of the flow speed based on the permeability value determined for a plurality of locations of the model, and determining a fluvial formation based on the gradient of the flow speed.

Claims (32)

1. A method for determination of a real subsoil geological formation, comprising:

receiving a model representing real subsoil;

receiving a proportions cube describing geological properties of the model;

determining a permeability value for a plurality of locations of the model based on the received proportions cube;

determining a gradient of the flow speed based on the permeability value determined for the plurality of locations of the model;

determining a fluvial formation as a real subsoil geological formation based on the gradient of the flow speed; and

outputting a complete model to a computing device, the complete model providing data indicating the determined fluvial formation as a real subsoil geological formation, which is usable to identify a hydrocarbon reservoir based on the determined fluvial formation and enable an industrial production plan for production of hydrocarbons based on the complete model.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determination of the gradient of the flow speed comprises solving of a Darcy-Weisbach equation.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the proportions cube is a facies proportions cube, and

wherein the determination of the permeability value comprises a mean of respective permeability values of facies weighted by a proportion of said facies according to the facies proportions cube.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining a fluvial formation comprises interpolating the permeability value for locations of the model where no proportion cube is available.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the model comprises a no-flow zone, and

wherein the permeability value for a location in said no-flow zone is set to 0.

6. A device for determination of a real subsoil geological formation, comprising:

an interface configured to receive a model representing the real subsoil;

an interface configured to receive a proportions cube describing geological properties of the model;

a circuit configured to determine a permeability value for a plurality of locations of the model based on the received proportions cube;

a circuit configured to determine a gradient of the flow speed based on the permeability value determined for the plurality of locations of the model; and

a circuit configured to determine a fluvial formation as a real subsoil geological formation based on the gradient of the flow speed, and to output a complete model to a computing device, the complete model providing data indicating the determined fluvial formation as a real subsoil geological formation, which is usable to identify a hydrocarbon reservoir based on the determined fluvial formation and enable an industrial production plan for production of hydrocarbons based on the complete model.

7. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium, having stored thereon a computer program comprising program instructions, the computer program being loadable into a data-processing device and adapted to cause the data-processing device to perform a method for determination of a real subsoil geological formation when the computer program is run by the data-processing device, the method comprising:

receiving a model representing real subsoil;

receiving a proportions cube describing geological properties of the model;

determining a permeability value for a plurality of locations of the model based on the received proportions cube;

determining a gradient of the flow speed based on the permeability value determined for the plurality of locations of the model;

determining a fluvial formation as a real subsoil geological formation based on the gradient of the flow speed; and

outputting a complete model to a computing device, the complete model providing data indicating the determined fluvial formation as a real subsoil geological formation, which is usable to identify a hydrocarbon reservoir based on the determined fluvial formation and enable an industrial production plan for production of hydrocarbons based on the complete model.

8. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the determination of the gradient of the flow speed comprises solving of a Darcy-Weisbach equation.

9. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the proportions cube is a facies proportions cube, and

wherein the determination of the permeability value comprises a mean of respective permeability values of facies weighted by a proportion of said facies according to the facies proportions cube.

10. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the determining a fluvial formation comprises interpolating the permeability value for locations of the model where no proportion cube is available.

11. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the model comprises a no-flow zone, and

wherein the permeability value for a location in said no-flow zone is set to 0.
