Abstract

A photovoltaic device includes a photoactive material comprising a perovskite material and an interfacial layer comprising a cross-linked polymer that comprises a fullerene or fullerene derivative, a cross-linking agent, and one or more polymers selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester, poly(4-vinylphenol), [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid, and any combination thereof.

Claims (26)

1. A cross-linked interfacial layer composition comprising:

a fullerene or fullerene derivative;

a cross-linking agent, wherein the cross-linking agent comprises a silane, wherein the silane is a halosilyalkane; and

one or more polymers.

2. The cross-linked interfacial layer composition of claim 1 , wherein the fullerene or fullerene derivative is selected from the group consisting of: a generic fullerene, a substituted fullerene, an endohedral fullerene, an exohedral fullerene, and any combination thereof.

3. The cross-linked interfacial flayer composition of claim 1 , wherein the fullerene or fullerene derivative is selected from the group consisting of: [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester, [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid, polyhydroxylfullerene, and any combination thereof.

4. The cross-linked interfacial layer composition of claim 1 , wherein the one or more polymers comprise a polyvinylaryl.

The cross-linked interfacial layer composition of claim 1 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: 4-(polyvinylphenol), poly(3-vinylphenol), poly(2-vinylphenol), poly(3,5-dihydroxystyrene), poly(3,4-dihydroxystyrene), poly(3,4,5-trihydroxystyrene), poly(4-chlorostyrene), and any combination thereof.

The cross-linked interfacial layer composition of claim 1 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: polystyrene, polyvinylnapthalenes, polyvinylphenols, polyvinylanilines, polyvinylbenzoic acid, polyvinylhaloarenes, polyvinylpyridine, polyvinylthiophene, polyvinylpyrrole, polyvinylfuran, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and any combination thereof.

7. The cross-linked interfacial layer composition of claim 1 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: polyacenaphthylene, polyphenylene oxides, polyphenylene sulfides, polyanilines, polyfuran, polythiophene, polypyrroles, and any combination thereof.

The cross-linked interfacial layer composition of claim 1 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: polyolefins, polyvinylalcohols, polyvinylacetate, polyvinylhalides, polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylate, polymethylmethacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinylcyclohexane, polyvinylamines, polyvinylthiols, and any combination thereof.

9. A photovoltaic device comprising:

a photoactive material comprising a perovskite material; and

an interfacial layer comprising a cross-linked polymer comprising:

a fullerene or fullerene derivative;

a cross-linking agent; and

one or more polymers.

10. The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the fullerene or fullerene derivative is selected from the group consisting of: [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester, [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid, polyhydroxylfullerene, and any combination thereof.

11. The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the fullerene or fullerene derivative is selected from the group consisting of: a generic fullerene, a substituted fullerene, an endohedral fullerene, an exohedral fullerene, and any combination thereof.

12. The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the cross-linking agent comprises a silane.

13. The photovoltaic device of claim 12 , wherein the silane is a halosilyalkane.

14. The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the one or more polymers comprise a polyvinylaryl.

15. The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: 4-(polyvinylphenol), poly(3-vinylphenol), poly(2-vinylphenol), poly(3,5-dihydroxystyrene), poly(3,4-dihydroxystyrene), poly(3,4,5-trihydroxystyrene), poly(4-chlorostyrene), and any combination thereof.

The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: polystyrene, polyvinylnapthalenes, polyvinylphenols, polyvinylanilines, polyvinylbenzoic acid, polyvinylhaloarenes, polyvinylpyridine, polyvinylthiophene, polyvinylpyrrole, polyvinylfuran, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and any combination thereof.

17. The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: polyacenaphthylene, polyphenylene oxides, polyphenylene sulfides, polyanilines, polyfuran, polythiophene, polypyrroles, and any combination thereof.

The photovoltaic device of claim 9 , wherein the one or more polymers are selected from the group consisting of: polyolefins, polyvinylalcohols, polyvinylacetate, polyvinylhalides, polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylate, polymethylmethacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinylcyclohexane, polyvinylamines, polyvinylthiols, and any combination thereof.
