Abstract

A headpiece, acquisition device, system and method for making electroencephalography (EEG) measurements. The EEG headpiece fits, or adjusts to fit, on a person's scalp, each of a plurality of electrodes is located in the headpiece corresponding to selected respective positions on the scalp, the electrodes are electrically connected to at least one electrical transmitter, and the headpiece is attached to the scalp after the electrodes have been located in the headpiece.

Claims (29)

1. A method for recording a person's brain activity, the method comprising:

providing an electroencephalography (EEG) headpiece that fits, or adjusts to fit, on the person's head, the EEG headpiece comprising a plurality of electrodes incorporated therein;

placing the EEG headpiece on the person's head;

electrically connecting the plurality of electrodes to a multi-wire connector and a transmitter-amplifier; and

receiving, by the plurality of electrodes, one or more signals representative of brain activity.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising recording signals from the electrodes, the signals being representative of brain activity.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying information derived from signals from the electrodes, the signals being representative of brain activity.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting the signals received by the transmitter-amplifier to a remote location.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting the signals received by the transmitter-amplifier via a transmission of at least one of cellular transmission, Internet transmission, and wireless transmission.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising conveying electrical signals to the transmitter-amplifier, the electrical signals being representative of at least one of audio signals and an EKG measurement of the person.

7. The method of claim 1 ,

the transmitter-amplifier comprising a first transmitter; and

the method further comprising transmitting signals received by the first transmitter to a second transmitter, the signals being representative of brain activity.

8. The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising:

transmitting signals received by the transmitter-amplifier to a local neurodiagnostic device, the signals being representative of brain activity;

transmitting the signals to a remote neurodiagnostic device; and

establishing communication between the local neurodiagnostic device and the remote neurodiagnostic device so that information input into the remote neurodiagnostic device may be read by a user of the local neurodiagnostic device.

9. The method of claim 1 , the method further comprising verifying proper connection of the plurality of electrodes to the person's head.

10. The method of claim 1 , the plurality of electrodes being detachably coupled to the EEG headpiece.

11. The method of claim 1 , the headpiece comprising a plurality of recording ports corresponding to selected respective positions on the person's head.

12. The method of claim 11 , the plurality of electrodes being attached or formed to the headpiece to present the recording head of each of the plurality of electrodes to a corresponding recording port.

13. The method of claim 1 , further comprising detachably coupling the plurality of electrodes to the person's head.

14. The method of claim 1 , the plurality of electrodes each corresponding to a predetermined location on the person's head.

15. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting the signals received by the transmitter-amplifier to a neurodiagnostic device.

16. The method of claim 1 , the EEG headpiece having a plurality of transmitting wires, the plurality of transmitting wires being electrically connected to the multi-wire connector.

17. The method of claim 1 , the transmitter-amplifier being at least one of a wired or wireless transmitter.

18. The method of claim 1 , the placing comprising placing the plurality of electrodes in operable communication with the person's head.

19. The method of claim 1 , the EEG headpiece comprising the plurality of electrodes secured to the EEG headpiece at predetermined locations.

20. The method of claim 1 , the EEG headpiece further comprising a common terminus at which a plurality of transmitting wires terminate.
