Abstract

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided herein for ascertaining a demand of promotions. An example method comprises receiving, from one or more consumers, at least one consumer request for at least one of one or more requested promotions or one or more requested providers, generating an aggregated list of the at least one of the one or more requested promotions or the one or more requested providers, ranking the aggregated list of the at least one consumer request, and causing one or more ranked lists to be distributed to at least one sales resource.

Claims (70)

1. A method comprising:

determining that a plurality of consumer devices are located in a geographic area associated with one or more promotions;

causing, in response to the determination, the one or more promotions to be rendered on a user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, each of the one or more promotions displayed with a link or a selectable button, that when selected provides a search request;

receiving, via the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, a plurality of search requests, the plurality of search requests being indicative of at least one promotion from among the one or more promotions;

performing a search of a promotion database for the at least promotion;

determining, subsequent to the search of the promotion database, that the at least one promotion is not present in a current inventory and is unavailable for purchase;

subsequently, due to the at least one promotion not being present in the current inventory;

updating, in the promotion database, a consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, the consumer specific demand list comprised of each of one or more requested promotions that (a) were previously searched for, (b) determined not to be present in the current inventory at the time of the previous searching and (c) not yet available in the current inventory; and

updating the at least one promotion rendered on the user interface by causing display of a notification indicating that the at least one promotion associated with the search request is not available;

subsequent to the generation of the consumer specific demand lists, determining an availability of the at least one promotion;

subsequent to the determination of the availability of the at least one promotion, updating the at least one promotion rendered on the user interface by causing display of a notification, at the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, indicating that the at least one promotion associated with the search request is now available; and

deriving a total demand for the at least one promotion for the geographic area, from an amount of instances that the search request is received in association with the at least one promotion and the geographic area, wherein the total demand is greater than the current inventory.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

upon the determination of the availability of the at least one promotion, dynamically modifying the consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, in the promotion database.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

wherein the dynamic modification comprises removing elements of the consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices associated with the at least one promotion now determined to be available.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

subsequent to the determination of the availability of the at least one promotion, updating display, at the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, of the consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices to now comprise an icon or link to purchase the at least one promotion.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

updating, in the promotion database, an aggregated list of consumer searched promotions, the aggregated list comprising each of one or more requested promotions from each of a plurality of consumers.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

ranking the at least one promotion among each of one or more other requested promotions; and

generating one or more ranked lists, the one or more ranked lists configured for dynamic allocation to at least one first sales resource.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining redemption parameters for a second promotion based on the total demand for the at least one promotion.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices is configured to display a distance from a promotion redemption location.

9. An apparatus comprising at least one processor coupled to at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the processor, cause the processor to at least:

determine that a plurality of consumer devices are located in a geographic area associated with one or more promotions;

cause, in response to the determination, the one or more promotions to be rendered on a user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, each of the one or more promotions displayed with a link or a selectable button, that when selected provides a search request;

receive, via the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, a plurality of search requests, the plurality of search requests being indicative of at least one promotion from among the one or more promotions;

perform a search of a promotion database for the at least promotion;

determine, subsequent to the search of the promotion database, that the at least one promotion is not present in a current inventory and is unavailable for purchase;

subsequently, due to the at least one promotion not being present in the current inventory;

update, in the promotion database, a consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, the consumer specific demand list comprised of each of one or more requested promotions that (a) were previously searched for, (b) determined not to be present in the current inventory at the time of the previous searching and (c) not yet available in the current inventory; and

update the at least one promotion rendered on the user interface by causing display of a notification indicating that the at least one promotion associated with the search request is not available;

subsequent to the generation of the consumer specific demand lists, determine an availability of the at least one promotion;

subsequent to the determination of the availability of the at least one promotion, update the at least one promotion rendered on the user interface by causing display of a notification, at the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, indicating that the at least one promotion associated with the search request is now available; and

derive a total demand for the at least one promotion for the geographic area, from an amount of instances that the search request is received in association with the at least one promotion and the geographic area, wherein the total demand is greater than the current inventory.

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the device to at least:

upon the determination of the availability of the at least one promotion, dynamically modify the consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, in the promotion database.

11. The apparatus of claim 10 ,

wherein the dynamic modification comprises removing elements of the consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices associated with the at least one promotion now determined to be available.

12. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the device to at least:

subsequent to the determination of the availability of the at least one promotion, update display, at the user interface associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices, of the consumer specific demand list associated with each of the plurality of consumer devices to now comprise an icon or link to purchase the at least one promotion.

13. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the device to at least:

update, in the promotion database, an aggregated list of consumer searched promotions, the aggregated list comprising each of one or more requested promotions from each of a plurality of consumers.

14. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the device to at least:
