Abstract

An emotion tracking computer system is presented. An emotion tracking server obtains digital content representing an assertion of the existence of an emotional relationship among multiple entities; e.g., an assertion of gratitude. The server creates one or more instances of emotion objects that model the assertion of the emotional relationship, where such objects are stored in an emotion database. The emotion objects form data primitives that provide opportunities for analyzing contexts of relationships. Gratitude tracking is discussed with some specificity.

Claims (42)

1. A computer-based, emotion object tracking system comprising:

an emotion object database storing a plurality of emotion objects in at least one blockchain data structure forming a verifiable ledger of linked emotion objects, wherein each emotion object represents an emotional assertion, wherein the at least one blockchain data structure comprises an entity specific blockchain; and

an emotion object tracking server comprising:

at least one non-transitory computer readable memory storing software instructions and storing at least one emotion ticker distinct from the plurality of emotion objects and representing a cumulative value of emotion metrics derived from the plurality of emotion objects; and

at least one processor coupled with the at least one non-transitory computer readable memory and communicatively coupled with the emotion object database, the at least one processor, upon execution of the software instructions, executing operations comprising:

receiving digital content from a first device;

deriving emotion attributes from the digital content, wherein the emotion attributes include at least one emotion metric;

instantiating, in the emotion object database, a new emotion object according to the emotion attributes;

linking the new emotion object to an existing, associated emotion object within the at least one blockchain data structure thereby forming a chain of emotion objects;

identifying the at least one emotion ticker distinct from the plurality of emotion objects via selection criteria based on the emotion attributes, the cumulative value being generated by a defined cumulative function that sums emotion object metrics of emotion objects satisfying the selection criteria in the at least one blockchain;

updating the cumulative value of the at least one emotion ticker in the at least one non-transitory computer readable memory with the at least one emotion metric according to the defined cumulative function, wherein said updating the cumulative value comprises summing the cumulative value and the at least one emotion metric of the new emotion object;

causing a second device to present the updated cumulative value of the at least one emotion ticker; and

providing access to the new emotion object via the emotion object database.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one blockchain data structure comprises a distributed ledger.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one blockchain data structure comprises a global blockchain.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one blockchain data structure comprises, at least in part, an external blockchain relative to the server.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one blockchain data structure comprises, at least in part, a cryptocurrency blockchain.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least some of the emotion objects within the blockchain data structure comprise private emotion objects accessible according to a fee schedule.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the access is provided via at least one application program interface (API) via the server over a network.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the access is provided via a social media widget.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the defined cumulative function comprises a rate of change of the emotion ticker.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the defined cumulative function comprises a higher order derivative of the rate of change.

11. The system of claim 1 , wherein the emotion attributes comprise name-value pairs.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the name-value pairs adhere to a defined namespace.

13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the defined namespace comprises an enterprise-specific namespace.

14. The system of claim 1 , wherein the emotion attributes comprise at least one of the following types of attributes: a location and a time.

15. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one emotion metric comprises a weighted value derived from the emotion attributes of the new emotion object.

16. The system of claim 1 , wherein the weighted value has a weight less than or equal to 1.

17. The system of claim 1 , wherein the emotional assertion comprises gratitude.

18. A computer-based, emotion object tracking system comprising:

an emotion object database storing a plurality of emotion objects in at least one blockchain data structure forming a verifiable ledger of linked emotion objects, wherein each emotion object represents an emotional assertion, wherein the at least one blockchain data structure comprises a global blockchain; and

an emotion object tracking server comprising:

at least one non-transitory computer readable memory storing software instructions and storing at least one emotion ticker distinct from the plurality of emotion objects and representing a cumulative value of emotion metrics derived from the plurality of emotion objects; and

at least one processor coupled with the at least one non-transitory computer readable memory and communicatively coupled with the emotion object database, the at least one processor, upon execution of the software instructions, executing operations comprising:

receiving digital content from a first device;

deriving emotion attributes from the digital content, wherein the emotion attributes include at least one emotion metric;

instantiating, in the emotion object database, a new emotion object according to the emotion attributes;

linking the new emotion object to an existing, associated emotion object within the at least one blockchain data structure thereby forming a chain of emotion objects;

identifying the at least one emotion ticker distinct from the plurality of emotion objects via selection criteria based on the emotion attributes, the cumulative value being generated by a defined cumulative function that sums emotion object metrics of emotion objects satisfying the selection criteria in the at least one blockchain;

updating the cumulative value of the at least one emotion ticker in the at least one non-transitory computer readable memory with the at least one emotion metric according to the defined cumulative function, wherein said updating the cumulative value comprises summing the cumulative value and the at least one emotion metric of the new emotion object;

causing a second device to present the updated cumulative value of the at least one emotion ticker; and

providing access to the new emotion object via the emotion object database.
