Claims (26)

1. An apparatus comprising:

a housing comprising:

a first half-shell portion having one or more protrusions and one or more receiving slots,

a second half-shell portion having one or more additional protrusions and one or more additional receiving slots, wherein the one or more protrusions and one or more receiving slots cooperate with the one or more additional protrusions and one or more additional receiving slots to secure the first half-shell portion and the second half-shell portion in a closed configuration;

a first mount set configured to receive a cable splicer for a strength cable; and

a second mount set is configured to receive a cable splicer for an audio cable;

wherein the of cable splicer for the strength cable is a first type of cable splicer and the cable splicer for the audio cable is a second type of cable splicer, and wherein the first mount set and the second mount set are affixed in both the first half-shell portion and the second half-shell portion.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the housing has a generally oval configuration.

3. An apparatus comprising:

a housing comprising:

a first half-shell portion having one or more protrusions and one or more receiving slots,

a second half-shell portion having one or more additional protrusions and one or more additional receiving slots, wherein the one or more protrusions and one or more receiving slots cooperate with the one or more additional protrusions and one or more additional receiving slots to secure the first half-shell portion and the second half-shell portion in a closed configuration;

a first resilient mounting channel configured to receive a cable splicer of a first type; and

a second resilient mounting channel configured to receive a cable splicer of a second type different than the first type,

wherein the first type of cable splicer is a splicer for a strength cable and the second type of cable splicer is a splicer for an audio cable, and wherein the resilient mounting channels are affixed in both the first half-shell portion and the second half-shell portion.

4. An apparatus comprising:

a housing comprising:

a first half-shell portion having one or more protrusions and one or more receiving slots, and

a second half-shell portion having one or more additional protrusions and one or more additional receiving slots, wherein the one or more protrusions and one or more receiving slots cooperate with the one or more additional protrusions and one or more additional receiving slots to secure the first half-shell portion and the second half-shell portion in a closed configuration;

a first resilient mounting channel configured to receive a cable splicer of a first type; and

a second resilient mounting channel configured to receive a cable splicer of a second type different than the first type, wherein the first type of cable splicer is a splicer for a strength cable and the second type of cable splicer is a splicer for an audio cable, and wherein the resilient mounting channels are affixed in both the first half-shell portion and the second half-shell portion; and

wherein the first resilient mounting channel comprises a protruding lip portion to engage the cable splicer of the first type and the second resilient mounting channel comprises a protruding lip portion to engage the cable splicer of the second type.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the resilient mounting channel comprises two first resilient mounting channels and the second resilient mounting channel comprises a single resilient mounting channel.

6. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the first resilient mounting channel comprises one or more cable extending slots having a first side and a second side.

7. The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the one or cable extending slots are configured to receive an additional audio cable.
