Abstract

Systems and methods are described herein for controlling a smart glass display based on environmental conditions. The smart glass display may be configured for presenting a media asset. Further, the smart glass display is configured with a transparent display function that adjusts the presentation of the media asset based on the environmental conditions. The smart glass display may identify environmental information and determine a hazard based on the environmental information. Further, a smart glass display may observe the user's eye movement and may execute a specific function corresponding to the user's eye movement.

Claims (38)

1. A method for controlling a smart glass display, comprising:

causing to be presented a media asset on a portion of the smart glass display at a first transparency level;

measuring, using a sensor, information about light projecting onto the smart glass display;

determining, using control circuitry, environmental information based on a location of the user;

determining, using the control circuitry, based on the environmental information, the existence of a potentially hazardous situation involving the user; and

in response to determining the existence of the potentially hazardous situation involving the user, adjusting presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display to a second transparency level by modifying the luminosity and color mix for the media asset portion of the smart glass display based on the potentially hazardous situation and the measured information.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the environmental information comprises one or more geographical location of the smart glasses, weather conditions, and sunlight conditions.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display comprises reducing an amount of light projecting a video of the media asset.

4. The method of claim 1 , further configured to display the media asset on a transparent display area of the smart glass display, such that the media asset is overlaid on the transparent display area visible through the smart glass display.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

adjusting an opacity or a luminosity of the smart glass display to maintain the presentation of the media asset in response to information about light projecting onto the smart glass display exceeding a threshold.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the potentially hazardous situation comprises one or more of an intersection, a stop sign, a traffic indication on a map, an emergency warning, a high-traffic road and a ground hazard.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the smart glass display is disposed within one or more lenses of the smart glasses and supported by a frame.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the smart glass display is voice-controlled.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the smart glass display is controlled by movement of an eye pupil.

10. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

determining a viewing angle of an eye pupil; and

shifting the location of the media asset on the smart glass display based on the viewing angle of the eye pupil.

11. A system for controlling a smart glass display, comprising:

memory;

a control circuitry configured to:

cause to be presented a media asset on a portion of the smart glass display at a first transparency level;

measure, using a sensor, information about light projecting onto the smart glass display and store the information in the memory;

determine, using control circuitry, environmental information based on a location of the user;

determine, using the control circuitry, based on the environmental information, the existence of a potentially hazardous situation involving the user; and

in response to determining the existence of the potentially hazardous situation involving the user, adjust presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display to a second transparency level by modifying the luminosity and color mix for the media asset portion of the smart glass display based on the potentially hazardous situation and the measured information.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the environmental information comprises one or more geographical location of the smart glasses, weather conditions, and sunlight conditions.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the control circuitry is configured to adjust that presentation of the media asset on the smart glass display by reducing an amount of light projecting a video of the media asset.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to display the media asset on a transparent display area of the smart glass display, such that the media asset is overlaid on the transparent display area visible through the smart glass display.

15. The system of claim 11 , the control circuitry is further configured to:

adjust an opacity and/or luminosity of the smart glass display to maintain the presentation of the media asset in response to information about light projecting onto the smart glass display exceeding a threshold.

16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the potentially hazardous situation comprises one or more of an intersection, a stop sign, a traffic indication on a map, an emergency warning, a high-traffic road and a ground hazard.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the smart glass display is disposed within one or more lenses of the smart glasses and supported by a frame.

18. The system of claim 11 , wherein the smart glass display is voice-controlled.

19. The system of claim 11 , wherein the smart glass display is controlled by movement of an eye pupil.

20. The system of claim 11 , wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

determine a viewing angle of an eye pupil; and

shift the location of the media asset on the smart glass display based on the viewing angle of the eye pupil.
