Abstract

A method of electronic communication assistance is provided. The method includes receiving, via an artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an electronic communication from a first user intended to be received by a second user; and determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, a capacity of the second user to receive the electronic communication. The method further includes determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility and based at least in part on the capacity of the second user, a time to send the electronic communication; and transmitting, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the time to the first user.

Claims (87)

1. A method of electronic communication assistance, the method comprising:

receiving, via an artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, one or more first electronic communications forming an ongoing conversation thread between a first user and a second user;

receiving, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, a second electronic communication from the first user intended to be received by the second user as part of the ongoing conversation thread;

analyzing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the one or more first electronic communications to determine reaction data for the second user;

updating, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, a communication profile for the second user based at least in part on the reaction data;

determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication;

determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility and based at least in part on the availability of the second user, a time to send the second electronic communication;

predicting a reaction of the second user to the second electronic communication based at least in part on the updated communication profile;

generating a compositional change to the second electronic communication based at least in part on the predicted reaction; and

transmitting, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the time and the compositional change to the first user.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

accessing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, scheduling data of the second user corresponding to a schedule of the second user;

wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication is further based at least in part on the scheduling data.

3. The method of claim 2 further comprising:

accessing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the communication profile, wherein the communication profile includes at least one preference of the second user to receive the second electronic communication;

wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication is based at least in part on the at least one preference.

4. The method of claim 3 further comprising:

determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility and based at least in part on the at least one preference, a communication channel; and

transmitting an indicator corresponding to the communication channel to the first user.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the communication channel corresponding to the indicator transmitted to the first user is distinct from a communication channel that the first user intended to transmit the second electronic communication over to the second user.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the communication channel corresponding to the indicator transmitted to the first user is at least one of:

a short message service message;

an e-mail;

an instant message; or

a voice message.

7. The method of claim 6 further comprising:

accessing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the communication profile, wherein the communication profile includes at least one behavior of the second user corresponding to a likelihood of the second user to respond to the second electronic communication;

wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication is based at least in part on the at least one behavior.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the communication channel is further based at least in part on the at least one behavior.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the communication channel corresponding to the indicator transmitted to the first user is distinct from a communication channel that transmitted the second electronic communication from the first user to the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the communication channel corresponding to the indicator transmitted to the first user is at least one of:

a short message service message;

an e-mail;

an instant message; or

a voice message.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein determining the communication channel is further based at least in part on a word length distribution of the second electronic communication.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the communication channel is further based at least in part on a state of at least one of the first user or the second user.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the state is in a commute.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the artificial intelligence assistant application further adapts the at least one processor to:

predict the reaction of the second user to the second electronic communication based at least in part on a past employment of the second user.

15. A method of electronic communication assistance, the method comprising:

receiving, via an artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, one or more first electronic communications forming an ongoing conversation thread between a first user and a second user;

receiving, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, a second electronic communication from the first user intended to be received by the second user as part of the ongoing conversation thread;

analyzing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the one or more first electronic communications to determine reaction data for the second user;

updating, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, a communication profile for the second user based at least in part on the reaction data, wherein the communication profile comprises a frequency of use of different channels for different communication use cases;

determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility and based at least in part on the frequency of use, a communication channel for use by the first user to transmit the second electronic communication to the second user;

predicting a reaction of the second user to the second electronic communication based at least in part on the updated communication profile;

generating a compositional change to the second electronic communication based at least in part on the predicted reaction; and

transmitting, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an indicator corresponding to the communication channel and the compositional change to the first user.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the communication channel corresponding to the indicator transmitted to the first user is distinct from a communication channel that the first user intended to transmit the second electronic communication over to the second user.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the communication channel corresponding to the indicator transmitted to the first user is at least one of:

a short message service message;

an e-mail;

an instant message; or

a voice message.

18. The method of claim 17 further comprising:

accessing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, scheduling data of the second user corresponding to a schedule of the second user;

wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the indicator corresponding to the communication channel is further based at least in part on the scheduling data.

19. The method of claim 18 further comprising:

accessing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the communication profile, wherein the communication profile comprises at least one preference of the second user to receive the second electronic communication;

wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the communication channel for use by the first user to transmit the second electronic communication to the second user is further based at least in part on the at least one preference.

20. The method of claim 19 further comprising:

accessing, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, at least one behavior of the second user in the communication profile corresponding to a likelihood of the second user to respond to the second electronic communication;

wherein determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the communication channel for use by the first user to transmit the second electronic communication to the second user is further based at least in part on the at least one behavior.

21. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, an availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication;

determining, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility and based at least in part on the availability of the second user, a time to send the second electronic communication; and

transmitting, via the artificial intelligence assistant computing facility, the time to the first user.

22. An apparatus for electronic communication assistance, the apparatus comprising;

at least one processor; and

a memory device storing an artificial intelligence assistant application that adapts the at least one processor to:

receive one or more first electronic communications forming an ongoing conversation thread between a first user and a second user;

intercept a second electronic communication sent by the first user and intended to be received by the second user as part of the ongoing conversation thread;

analyze the one or more first electronic communications to determine reaction data for the second user;

update a communication profile for the second user based at least in part on the reaction data;

determine an availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication based at least in part on the communication profile;

determine, based at least in part on the availability of the second user to receive the second electronic communication, a time to send the second electronic communication;

predict a reaction of the second user to the second electronic communication based at least in part on the updated communication profile;

determine that the predicted reaction of the second user is different than an expected reaction;

in response to determining that the predicted reaction is different from the expected reaction, generate a compositional change to the second electronic communication structured to change the predicted reaction of the second user; and

transmit the time and the compositional change to the first user.

23. The apparatus of claim 22 , wherein the artificial intelligence assistant application further adapts the at least one processor to:

access scheduling data of the second user corresponding to a schedule of the second user;

wherein the at least one processor determines the availability of the second user based at least in part on the scheduling data.

24. The apparatus of claim 23 , wherein the artificial intelligence assistant application further adapts the at least one processor to:

determine a communication channel for transmitting the second electronic communication to the second user; and

transmit an indicator corresponding to the communication channel to the first user.
