Methods and devices for preventing viral transmission
View Patent ↗An apparatus includes multiple first reservoirs and multiple second reservoirs joined with a substrate. Selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs include a reducing agent, and first reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs are proximate to a first substrate surface. Selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs include an oxidizing agent, and second reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs are proximate to the first substrate surface.
1. A reusable system for preventing virus transmission through the mouth and nose of a patient with corona virus comprising:
a planar substrate comprising a long axis and further comprising one or more biocompatible electrodes configured to generate at least one of a low level electric field (LLEF) or low level electric current (LLEC), wherein said substrate comprises snaps, hooks, magnets, or velcro at opposite ends of its long axis wherein the biocompatible electrodes comprise a first array comprising a pattern of microcells formed from a first conductive material, and a second array comprising a pattern of microcells formed from a second conductive material and said planar substrate comprises a pouch to reversibly secure a washable, reusable insert to the planar substrate, said insert contacted with a conductive fluid prior to use, wherein said planar substrate produces a voltage of at least −8 volts for 18 hours after hydrating the substrate at 72° F. and 50% relative humidity; and further comprising a pouch for storing the system.
2. The system of claim 1 , wherein said planar substrate comprises a compression fabric.
3. A method for preventing viral transmission comprising applying the system of claim 1 to an area where prevention is desired.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein said transmission comprises viral propagation.
5. The method of claim 3 , wherein said transmission comprises viral acquisition.
