Abstract

The present invention can provide a method exerting an excellent control effect in the control of glyphosate-resistant weeds. The method includes the step of applying to 200 g per 10000 m 2 of trifludimoxazin to the glyphosate-resistant weed or a habitat of the glyphosate-resistant weed.

Claims (13)

1. A method of controlling a weed that is resistant to glyphosate and further resistant to one or more different herbicides than glyphosate, comprising: applying 5 to 200 g per 10000 m 2 of trifludimoxazin to the weed or a habitat where the weed will grow, wherein the trifludimoxazin is effective in the control of the weed, wherein the different herbicide than glyphosate is selected from the group consisting of a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor, an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor, an acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitor, an Auxin-type herbicide, a 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitor, a photosystem II inhibitor, and a glutamate synthase inhibitor.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the weed is a member of genus Amaranthus.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the weed is Amaranthus palmeri.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the weed is Amaranthus palmeri in which the number of copies of 5-enolpyruvylshikimate 3-phosphate synthasegene (EPSPS) gene is increased as compared to the number of genes in non-glyphosate resistant Amaranthus palmeri.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the trifludimoxazin is applied in a cultivation area for a crop.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the crop is at least one selected from the group consisting of soybean, corn, cotton, rapeseed, rice, wheat, barley, sugar cane, sugar beet, sorghum and sunflower.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the crop is tolerant to trifludimoxazin.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the trifludimoxazin is applied at from 6.25 g to 100 g per 10000 m 2 .

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the weed is resistant to glyphosate, a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor, an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor, an auxin-type herbicide, a photosystem II inhibitor and an 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitor.

10. The method of claim 1 , comprising: applying 5 to 200 g per 10000 m 2 of trifludimoxazin together with one or more different herbicides than trifludimoxazin to the weed or a habitat where the weed will grow, wherein the different herbicide than trifludimoxazin is selected from the group consisting of saflufenacil, dimethenamid-P, imazethapyr, imazethapyr-ammonium, pyroxasulfone, pendimethalin, glufosinate, glufosinate-ammonium, glufosinate-P-ammonium, topramezone and isoxaflutole.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the different herbicide than trifludimoxazin is saflufenacil.

12. A method of controlling Amaranthus palmeri that is resistant to glyphosate and further resistant to the one or more different herbicides than glyphosate, comprising: applying 5 to 200 g per 10000 m 2 of trifludimoxazin to Amaranthus palmeri or a habitat where the Amaranthus palmeri will grow, wherein the different herbicide than glyphosate is selected from the group consisting of a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor, an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor, an acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitor, an Auxin-type herbicide, a 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitor, a photosystem II inhibitor, and a glutamate synthase inhibitor, wherein trifludimoxazin is applied together with saflufenacil.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the Amaranthus palmeri is resistant to glyphosate, the protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor, acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor, auxin-type herbicide, photosystem II inhibitor and 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitor.
