SURFACE DISINFECTANT WITH RESIDUAL BIOCIDAL PROPERTY
A disinfectant formulation comprising a poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) and a quaternary ammonium compound or combination of quaternary ammonium compounds is provided. A wipe having a residual biocidal property is also provided. The wipe formulation comprises a substrate comprised of a fibrous material, and the formulation present on or in the substrate. The formulation comprises a poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline), a quaternary ammonium compound or combination of quaternary ammonium compounds, a surfactant, water, and an optional fragrance.
1 . A disinfectant formulation comprising:
1 weight % to 2 weight % of a poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline),
at least 0.4 weight % of a quaternary ammonium compound or combination of quaternary ammonium compounds,
0.1 weight % to 0.3 weight % of an alcohol ethoxylate with at least 9 moles of ethylene oxide, and
a balance of water,
wherein weight percentages are based on total weight of the formulation, and
wherein the formulation provides up to 24-hour residual sanitization activity.
2 . The disinfectant formulation according to claim 1 , wherein the alcohol ethoxylate has at least 12 moles of ethylene oxide.
3 . A disinfectant formulation comprising:
a polymer binder in a range of 0.1% to 20% based on the weight of the disinfectant formulation, wherein the polymer binder is an oxazoline homopolymer or an extended or a modified polymer based on an oxazoline homopolymer,
a biocidal compound in a range of 0.05% to 20% based on the weight of the disinfectant formulation,
a surfactant in a range of 0.01% to 20% based on the weight of the disinfectant formulation,
a pH adjusting agent in a range of 0.01% to 10% based on the weight of the disinfectant formulation,
glycol ether in a range of 1% to 50% based on the weight of the disinfectant formulation, and
water in a range of 0% to 99.9% based on the weight of the disinfectant formulation.
