Infusion pumps
Ambulatory infusion pumps, pump assemblies, and baseplate assemblies, including cartridges, baseplates, cannulas, inserters, and related components and batteries therefor, as well as component combinations and related methods.
1. A first assembly comprising:
a baseplate configured to be removably attached to a housing of a second assembly, the second assembly comprising a pump module and a replenishable energy supply disposed within the housing; and
an energy supply carried on the baseplate, the energy supply configured to transfer energy to the replenishable energy supply when the baseplate is removably attached to the second assembly,
wherein the baseplate and the second assembly are configured to be attached to one another in such a manner that the baseplate can be separated from the second assembly without removing the pump module from the second assembly.
2. The first assembly of claim 1 , further comprising an opening in a lower surface of the baseplate, the opening configured to accommodate a cannula.
3. The first assembly of claim 1 , wherein the energy supply is configured to project into a recess of the second assembly.
4. The first assembly of claim 1 , wherein the energy supply is configured to transfer energy to the replenishable energy supply based on inductive coupling.
5. The first assembly of claim 1 , wherein the energy supply is configured to transfer energy to the replenishable energy supply based on an electrical connection.
6. The first assembly of claim 1 , wherein the energy supply is non-replenishable.
7. The first assembly of claim 2 , wherein the baseplate opening is configured to be aligned with a second opening in the second assembly when the baseplate is removably attached to the second assembly.
8. A first assembly comprising:
a first housing;
a pump module within the first housing; and
a replenishable energy supply within the first housing, the replenishable energy supply configured to receive energy from an energy supply disposed within a second housing of a second assembly when the first assembly is removably attached to the second assembly,
wherein the first assembly is configured to attached to the second assembly in such a manner that the first assembly can be separated from the second assembly without removing the pump module from the first assembly.
9. The first assembly of claim 8 , further comprising a recess in the first housing, the recess configured to accommodate the energy supply of the second assembly.
10. The first assembly of claim 8 , wherein the replenishable energy supply is configured to receive energy from the energy supply based on inductive coupling.
11. The first assembly of claim 8 , wherein the replenishable energy supply is configured to receive energy from the energy supply based on an electrical connection.
12. The first assembly of claim 8 , wherein the pump module comprises a piston pump.
13. The first assembly of claim 8 , wherein the pump module comprises a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) pump.
14. The first assembly of claim 8 , wherein the pump module comprises a peristaltic pump.
15. A system comprising:
a first assembly including a baseplate and an energy supply carried on the baseplate; and
a second assembly including a pump module and a replenishable energy supply disposed within a common housing, wherein the energy supply of the first assembly is configured to transfer energy to the replenishable energy supply of the second assembly when the first assembly is removably attached to the second assembly,
wherein the first assembly and the second assembly are configured to be attached to one another in such a manner that the first assembly can be separated from the second assembly without removing the pump module from the second assembly.
16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the first assembly further comprises an opening in the baseplate, the opening configured to accommodate a cannula.
17. The system of claim 15 , wherein the energy supply of the first assembly is configured to project into a recess of the second assembly.
18. The system of claim 15 , wherein the energy supply of the first assembly is configured to transfer energy to the replenishable energy supply of the second assembly based on inductive coupling.
