Abstract

A method for uploading a probe data, including coordinate information of a plurality of features disposed along a road, to a server, includes: acquiring at least one peripheral object data, representing a feature disposed around a vehicle, from a peripheral monitoring sensor mounted on the vehicle; analyzing the peripheral object data and calculate a position of the feature with respect to the road on which the vehicle travels; and generating the probe data including position information of the feature and uploading the probe data to the server. The uploading includes a first mode in which the probe data is uploaded to the server at a predetermined frequency, and a second mode in which the probe data is uploaded at a lower frequency than the first mode.

Claims (43)

1. A method for uploading a probe data, including coordinate information of a plurality of features disposed along a road, to a server that manages map data, the method comprising:

acquiring at least one peripheral object data, representing a feature disposed around a vehicle, from a peripheral monitoring sensor mounted on the vehicle;

analyzing the peripheral object data and calculate a position of the feature with respect to the road on which the vehicle travels; and

generating the probe data including position information of the feature and uploading the probe data to the server; and

the uploading includes, as an operation mode, a first mode in which the probe data is uploaded to the server at a predetermined frequency, and a second mode in which the probe data is uploaded at a lower frequency than the first mode, wherein

the second mode includes a prohibition mode in which the probe data is not uploaded to the server, and

the prohibition mode is activated for a state in which the vehicle is in a predetermined prohibition area.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the second mode is activated for a state in which the vehicle is disposed in a predetermined low frequency area.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the second mode is activated at a predetermined time in a day.

4. The method according to claim 3 , wherein

the predetermined time is variable according to a season during a year.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the second mode is activated during rainfall, snowfall, or heavy fog.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

a frequency of uploading to the server in the second mode is reduced as an usage age of the processor increases.

7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

in the first mode, predetermined types of the features are defined as an upload target, and in the second mode, a numerical number of types of the features as the upload target is fewer than the first mode.

8. The method according to claim 7 , wherein

the uploading includes switching the operating mode from the first mode to the second mode based on at least one of an instruction from the server, a traveling area of the vehicle, a weather condition, and a time zone.

9. The method according to claim 8 , wherein

the types of the features as the upload target in the second mode are determined based on the instruction from the server.

10. A method for uploading a probe data to a server executed by at least one processor mounted on a vehicle, the probe data including coordinate information of a plurality of features disposed along a road, the method comprising:

acquiring a peripheral object data, representing a feature disposed in a vicinity of the vehicle, from a peripheral monitoring sensor mounted on the vehicle;

analyzing the peripheral object data, and calculating a position of the feature with respect to the road on which the vehicle travels; and

generating the probe data including position information of the feature, and uploading the probe data to the server; and

changing either a frequency of the uploading of the probe data to the server or a numerical number of types of features as an upload target based on at least one of an instruction from the server, a traveling area of the vehicle, a weather condition, and a time zone, wherein

the uploading of the probe data to the server includes a prohibition mode in which the probe data is not uploaded to the server, and

the prohibition mode is activated for a state in which the vehicle is in a predetermined prohibition area.

11. A method for generating a map data including coordinate information of a plurality of features disposed along a road, the map data being used to control an autonomous driving of a vehicle, the method comprising:

performing a wireless communication with a plurality of vehicles, and acquiring a probe data representing position information of a feature disposed around each vehicle; and

generating or updating the map data based on the probe data acquired from a plurality of vehicles, wherein:

the acquiring of the probe data includes, as an operation mode, a collection mode for causing all vehicle-side devices disposed within a predetermined range to transmit the probe data, and a save mode for not requiring a part of vehicle-side devices disposed within the predetermined range to transmit the probe data,

wherein

the save mode includes a prohibition mode in which the probe data is not acquired, and

the prohibition mode is activated for a state in which the vehicle is in a predetermined prohibition area.

12. The method according to claim 11 further comprising:

generating and updating the map data for each map tile that is obtained by dividing a map registered area into a plurality of parts; and

switching the operation mode for each map tile based on a collection status of the probe data for each map tile.

13. The method according to claim 11 further comprising:

generating and updating the map data for each road segment that is obtained by dividing a road network according to a predetermined rule; and

switching the operation mode for each road segment based on a collection status of the probe data for each road segment.
