Abstract

In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for receiving a command to define at least one mobilized object that implements a view for at least one mobile device of data retrieved from an on-demand service. These mechanisms and methods further include generating the mobilized object including the at least one instruction for defining the view for the at least one mobile device, and pushing the mobilized object to the at least one mobile device.

Claims (48)

1 . A method, comprising:

causing, by a server, display of a view at a mobile device that is associated with a tenant of a multi-tenant database service, the view including an entity that is accessible by the mobile device and includes a set of displayed items associated with the entity;

receiving, via a user interface and at the server, an input that edits the view that includes the entity, the input indicating disabling of at least one item of the set of displayed items from the view associated with the entity; and

causing, by the server, display of the edited view at the mobile device, the edited view not displaying the at least one item that is disabled via the input received at the server.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface is an administrator user interface that is configured to access a storage location associated with the tenant of the multi-tenant database service.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the input comprises:

receiving the input that indicates the disabling of the at least one item of the set of displayed items from the view associated with the entity.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the input comprises:

receiving an input that specifies that the at least one item is to be filtered from the view associated with the entity.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of displayed items include one or more fields, one or more values, or a combination thereof.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, at the server, a selection of the entity to enable the view of the entity, wherein the view is displayed at the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the selection of the entity.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, at the server, an indication that the view is to be used for a first set of mobile devices including the mobile device and indication that a second view is to be used for a second set of mobile devices.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

providing, to the mobile device, an application that is associated with the entity, wherein the application is associated with the tenant and is different from one or more applications associated with different tenants of the multi-tenant database service; and

receiving, at the server, a request from the mobile device as a result of the application being executed on the mobile device; and

selecting, at the server and from among a plurality of entities that are associated with the tenant and based at least in part on receiving the request as the result of the application being executed on the mobile device or tablet, the entity, wherein the plurality of entities associated with the tenant differs from one or more entities employed by the different tenants of the multi-tenant database service, wherein the view is caused to be displayed based at least in part on selecting the entity.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein causing the view to be displayed at the mobile device comprises:

transmitting, to the mobile device to cause display of the view, at least one instruction for defining the view of the entity.

10 . An apparatus, comprising:

a processor;

memory coupled with the processor; and

instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

cause, by a server, display of a view at a mobile device that is associated with a tenant of a multi-tenant database service, the view including an entity that is accessible by the mobile device and includes a set of displayed items associated with the entity;

receive, via a user interface and at the server, an input that edits the view that includes the entity, the input indicating disabling of at least one item of the set of displayed items from the view associated with the entity; and

cause, by the server, display of the edited view at the mobile device, the edited view not displaying the at least one item that is disabled via the input received at the server.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the user interface is an administrator user interface that is configured to access a storage location associated with the tenant of the multi-tenant database service.

12 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions to receive the input are executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

receive the input that indicates the disabling of the at least one item of the set of displayed items from the view associated with the entity.

13 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

receive, at the server, a selection of the entity to enable the view of the entity, wherein the view is displayed at the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the selection of the entity.

14 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

receive, at the server, an indication that the view is to be used for a first set of mobile devices including the mobile device and indication that a second view is to be used for a second set of mobile devices.

15 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

provide, to the mobile device, an application that is associated with the entity, wherein the application is associated with the tenant and is different from one or more applications associated with different tenants of the multi-tenant database service; and

receive, at the server, a request from the mobile device as a result of the application being executed on the mobile device; and

select, at the server and from among a plurality of entities that are associated with the tenant and based at least in part on receiving the request as the result of the application being executed on the mobile device or tablet, the entity, wherein the plurality of entities associated with the tenant differs from one or more entities employed by the different tenants of the multi-tenant database service, wherein the view is caused to be displayed based at least in part on selecting the entity.

16 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code, the code comprising instructions executable by a processor to:

cause, by a server, display of a view at a mobile device that is associated with a tenant of a multi-tenant database service, the view including a entity that is accessible by the mobile device and includes a set of displayed items associated with the entity;

receive, via a user interface and at the server, an input that edits the view that includes the entity, the input indicating disabling of at least one item of the set of displayed items from the view associated with the entity; and

cause, by the server, display of the edited view at the mobile device, the edited view not displaying the at least one item that is disabled via the input received at the server.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the user interface is an administrator user interface that is configured to access a storage location associated with the tenant of the multi-tenant database service.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions to receive the input are executable by the processor to:

receive the input that indicates the disabling of the at least one item of the set of displayed items from the view associated with the entity.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the set of displayed items include one or more fields, one or more values, or a combination thereof.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to:

receive, at the server, a selection of the entity to enable the view of the entity, wherein the view is displayed at the mobile device based at least in part on receiving the selection of the entity.
