Abstract

A system, method, and computer-readable medium for performing a data center monitoring and management operation. The data center monitoring and management operation includes: identifying a data center management task; constructing a software file to address the data center management task, the software file being constructed via an augmented reality system; virtually providing an indication to install the software file via the augmented reality system; and, initiating installation of the software file within the data center via the augmented reality system.

Claims (46)

1. A computer-implementable method for performing a data center monitoring and management operation, comprising:

identifying a data center management task;

constructing a software file to address the data center management task, the software file being constructed via an augmented reality system;

virtually providing an indication to install the software file via the augmented reality system; and,

initiating installation of the software file within the data center via the augmented reality system; and wherein

the constructing the software file is performed by a system administrator;

the indication to install the software file is performed by a technician;

the software file comprises a configuration file; and,

the configuration file is associated with a particular system within the data center, the particular system being associated with a particular rack and slot within the data center.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the data center management task comprises at least one of a data center deployment task and a data center remediation data center task.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the augmented reality system provides a plurality of augmented steps for performing the data center management task.

4. A system comprising:

a processor;

a data bus coupled to the processor; and

a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium embodying computer program code, the non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium being coupled to the data bus, the computer program code interacting with a plurality of computer operations and comprising instructions executable by the processor and configured for:

identifying a data center management task;

constructing a software file to address the data center management task, the software file being constructed via an augmented reality system;

virtually providing an indication to install the software file via the augmented reality system; and,

initiating installation of the software file within the data center via the augmented reality system; and wherein

the constructing the software file is performed by a system administrator;

the indication to install the software file is performed by a technician;

the software file comprises a configuration file; and,

the configuration file is associated with a particular system within the data center, the particular system being associated with a particular rack and slot within the data center.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein:

the data center management task comprises at least one of a data center deployment task and a data center remediation data center task.

6. The system of claim 4 , wherein:

the augmented reality system provides a plurality of augmented steps for performing the data center management task.

7. A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium embodying computer program code, the computer program code comprising computer executable instructions configured for:

identifying a data center management task;

constructing a software file to address the data center management task, the software file being constructed via an augmented reality system;

virtually providing an indication to install the software file via the augmented reality system; and,

initiating installation of the software file within the data center via the augmented reality system; and wherein

the constructing the software file is performed by a system administrator;

the indication to install the software file is performed by a technician;

the software file comprises a configuration file; and,

the configuration file is associated with a particular system within the data center, the particular system being associated with a particular rack and slot within the data center.

8. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein:

the data center management task comprises at least one of a data center deployment task and a data center remediation data center task.

9. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein:

the augmented reality system provides a plurality of augmented steps for performing the data center management task.

10. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein:

the computer executable instructions are deployable to a client system from a server system at a remote location.

11. The non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein:

the computer executable instructions are provided by a service provider to a user on an on-demand basis.
