4. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the recommended surgical checklist comprises: a list of anticipated surgical steps to be performed as part of the determined surgical procedure, or a list of recommended surgical items present in the operating room for the determined surgical procedure.
5. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the actual surgical checklist is determined by: a list of devices paired with the surgical hub present in the operating room, a list of scanned items present in the operating room, or a list of surgical procedure steps determined by a real-time data feed.
6. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the surgical hub determines a threshold level of criticality for a missing step or item, based on the severity of a medical procedure, or the level of unexpectedness of the missing step or item.
7. A method for sending a push notification to a non-sterile display comprising:
a surgical hub configured to:
receive data from a data source;
determine a type of surgical procedure being performed;
retrieve a recommended surgical checklist from an at least one data source, wherein the recommended surgical checklist is determined by the type of surgical procedure being performed;
determine an actual surgical checklist based on the data from the data source, wherein the actual surgical checklist represents: a list of items present in an operating room where the surgical procedure is being performed;
compare the actual surgical checklist to the recommended surgical checklist;
determine, based on the checklist comparison, whether a recommended item is missing from the actual surgical checklist;
send an alert, to a non-sterile display, based on the determination;
retrieve a recommended operating room layout from the at least one data source, wherein the recommended operating room layout is determined by the type of surgical procedure being performed;
determine a current operating room layout based on the data from the data source, wherein the current operating room layout comprises relative positions of devices present in the operating room;
compare the current operating room layout to the recommended operating room layout;
determine, based on the layout comparison, whether the current operating room layout deviates from the recommended layout; and
send an alert, to the non-sterile display, based on the determination.
8. The method for sending a push notification of claim 7 , wherein a sterile display is located within the operating room and the non-sterile display is located outside of the operating room.
9. The method for sending a push notification of claim 8 , wherein an operator of the non-sterile display uses the non-sterile display to provide a communication to the sterile display, and wherein the communication is a diagnostic input received by the sterile display, based on the alert.
10. The method for sending a push notification of claim 7 , wherein the recommended surgical checklist comprises: a list of anticipated surgical steps to be performed as part of the determined surgical procedure, or a list of recommended surgical items present in the operating room for the determined surgical procedure.
11. The method for sending a push notification of claim 7 , wherein the actual surgical checklist is determined by: a list of devices paired with the surgical hub present in the operating room, a list of scanned items present in the operating room, or a list of surgical procedure steps determined by a real-time data feed.
12. The method for sending a push notification of claim 7 , wherein the surgical hub determines a threshold level of criticality for a missing step or item, based on the severity of a medical procedure, or the level of unexpectedness of the missing step or item.
13. A surgical hub for use in a surgical procedure, comprising:
