Abstract

A method is provided, including sending a request to transmit geographic data; receiving the geographic data; integrating the received geographic data with previously stored data; using the integrated geographic data to produce a geographic solution; and outputting the geographic solution.

Claims (38)

1 . A method, comprising:

sending a request to transmit geographic data;

receiving the geographic data;

integrating the received geographic data with previously stored data;

using the integrated geographic data to produce a geographic solution; and

outputting the geographic solution.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the output of the geographic solution includes a map including a route between two locations.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a verbal output indicating turn-by-turn directions.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a visual output including a list of directions.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the geographic solution includes a map showing an origin, a destination, and directions.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the previously stored data includes geographic data.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the previously stored data includes a current time.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the previously stored data includes one or more surrounding waypoints.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the previously stored data includes a travelling speed.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request is transmitted through a wireless link.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request is sent by a GPS equipped device.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the geographic data includes a physical location.

13 . A computer program product comprising:

a computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, the computer usable program code comprising:

computer usable program code configured to send a request to transmit geographic data;

computer usable program code configured to receive the geographic data;

computer usable program code configured to integrate the received geographic data with previously stored data;

computer usable program code configured to use the integrated geographic data to produce a geographic solution; and

computer usable program code configured to output the geographic solution.

14 . The computer program product of claim 13 , wherein the output of the geographic solution includes a map including a route between two locations.

15 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer usable program code configured to provide a verbal output indicating turn-by-turn directions.

16 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer usable program code configured to provide a visual output including a list of directions.

17 . The computer program product of claim 13 , wherein the geographic solution includes a map showing an origin, a destination, and directions.

18 . The computer program product of claim 13 , wherein the previously stored data includes geographic data.

19 . The computer program product of claim 13 , wherein the previously stored data includes a current time.

20 . A system, comprising:

a processor;

a computer usable medium, the computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, which when executed by the processor causes the processor to:

send a request to transmit geographic data;

receive the geographic data;

integrate the received geographic data with previously stored data;

use the integrated geographic data to produce a geographic solution; and

output the geographic solution.
