Abstract

The present disclosure is generally related to devices, methods and systems for cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilizing a medical device, medical hoses and tubes and accessories thereof with ozone gas, in particular the disclosure relates to devices, methods and systems with multiple receptacles for providing closed-loop fluid pathways to distribute ozone gas to inner passageways and the outer compartments of medical devices. The devices in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure have two or more receptacles for distributing ozone gas, a gas-tight compartment, an ozone operating system, and one or more connector units configured to fluidly migrate ozone in closed-loop treatment systems.

Claims (27)

1. An ozone treatment system, comprising:

an ozone operating system fluidly coupled to a first receptacle; and

a gas tight compartment configured to transition between an open position and a closed position, the gas tight compartment comprising a second receptacle;

wherein:

the first receptacle is configured to be fluidly coupled to the second receptacle;

the second receptacle is further configured to form a seal with an outer surface of an intermediate portion of a continuous positive airway (CPAP) hose such that at least a distal end of the CPAP hose is configured to be disposed within an interior of the gas tight compartment, the intermediate portion being between the distal end and a proximal end of the CPAP hose;

the ozone operating system is configured to fluidly couple to the interior of the gas tight compartment via at least the first receptacle and the second receptacle;

in the open position, the gas tight compartment permits insertion of at least a mask of a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) mask into the interior of the gas tight compartment.

2. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , further comprising an ozone distribution line, wherein the ozone distribution line is coupled to the ozone operating system and the first receptacle.

3. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , further comprising the CPAP hose.

4. The ozone treatment system of claim 3 , wherein the ozone operating system is fluidly coupled to the interior of the gas tight compartment at least in part by the CPAP hose.

5. The ozone treatment system of claim 3 , further comprising a CPAP mask, wherein the CPAP mask is configured to be disposed within the interior of the gas tight compartment.

6. The ozone treatment system of claim 5 , wherein the CPAP mask is coupled to the distal end of the CPAP hose.

The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , wherein the gas tight compartment further comprises an opening and a lid configured to selectively seal the opening, wherein the lid is configured to, at least in part, form the seal with the outer surface of the intermediate portion of the CPAP hose when the gas tight compartment is in the closed position.

The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , wherein the gas tight compartment includes an opening, a lid configured to selectively seal the opening, and at least one sidewall having a notch defining at least a portion of the second receptable, the notch configured to receive the intermediate portion of the CPAP hose.

9. The ozone treatment system of claim 8 , wherein the notch includes a U shaped notch.

10. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , wherein the gas tight compartment further comprises an exhaust port for exhausting ozone gas from the gas tight compartment.

11. The ozone treatment system of claim 10 , further comprising an oxidizing catalyst fluidly coupled to the exhaust port, the oxidizing catalyst configured to convert ozone gas to oxygen.

12. The ozone treatment system of claim 11 , wherein the oxidizing catalyst comprises magnesium oxide.

13. The ozone treatment system of claim 2 , further comprising the CPAP hose.

14. The ozone treatment system of claim 13 , wherein the ozone operating system is fluidly coupled to the interior of the gas tight compartment at least in part by the CPAP hose.

The ozone treatment system of claim 13 , further comprising a CPAP mask coupled to the distal end of the CPAP hose, wherein the gas tight compartment is configured receive the CPAP mask coupled to the distal end of the CPAP hose within the interior of the gas tight compartment and form the seal between the second receptacle and the outer surface of an intermediate portion of the CPAP hose without having to disconnect the CPAP mask from the distal end of the CPAP hose.

The ozone treatment system of claim 15 , wherein the gas tight compartment includes an opening, a lid configured to selectively seal the opening, and at least one sidewall having a notch defining at least a portion of the second receptable, the notch configured to receive the intermediate portion of the CPAP hose.

17. The ozone treatment system of claim 16 , wherein the seal is formed between the notch, the lid, and the outer surface of the intermediate portion of the CPAP hose.

18. The ozone treatment system of claim 13 , wherein the gas tight compartment further comprises an exhaust port for exhausting ozone gas from the gas tight compartment.

19. The ozone treatment system of claim 18 , further comprising an oxidizing catalyst fluidly coupled to the exhaust port, the oxidizing catalyst configured to convert ozone gas to oxygen.

20. The ozone treatment system of claim 19 , wherein the oxidizing catalyst comprises magnesium oxide.
