Abstract

In one embodiment, a computing system may receive a request for an optimization recommendation of a geographic area of interest covered by a communication network. The computing system may determine a network traffic trend associated with the geographic area of interest based on a current number of data samples that may be aggregated into a plurality of data points. The computing system may predict a value of a number of data samples for a future time associated with the geographic area of interest, based on the determined network traffic trend and the current number of data samples. The computing system may predict, based on the determined network traffic trend and the predicted value of the number of data samples at the future time, network traffic associated with the geographic area of interest at the future time, and send instructions for presenting the optimization recommendation based on the predicted network traffic.

predicting, based on the determined network traffic trend and the predicted value of the number of data samples at the future time, network traffic associated with the geographic area of interest at the future time; and

sending, to the client system, responsive to the request for the optimization recommendation, instructions for presenting the optimization recommendation based on the predicted network traffic.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating, based on the determined predicted network traffic trend, a plurality of optimization recommendations;

calculating a priority score for each of the optimization recommendations;

ranking each of the optimization recommendations based on their respective priority score; and

wherein the optimization recommendation presented corresponds to the proposed optimization recommendation having the highest rank.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the optimization recommendation comprises adding a new cell in the geographic area of interest.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the optimization recommendation further comprises configuring network traffic in the geographic area of interest to be split between an existing cell of the geographic area of interest and the new cell based on the optimization recommendation.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data samples are collected at an application level or an infrastructure level.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the network traffic trend is determined based on a regression on the plurality of data points.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the network traffic trend is based on a download speed.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of data points is aggregated per hour per N days, and wherein N is any positive integer number.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of data points is aggregated per hour per week.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the instructions for presenting the optimization recommendation are displayed on a graphical user interface of the client system.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

optimizing, responsive to an input received at the client system, the communication network in the geographic area of interest based on the one or more network optimization recommendations.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the communication network is optimized at an application level or an infrastructure level.
