METHODS OF TREATING MIXED DYSLIPIDEMIA
The present disclosure relates to, inter alia, methods of treating mixed dyslipidemia with ethyl eicosapentaenoate.
1 . A method of treating hypertriglyceridemia in a subject having elevated triglycerides and who is on statin therapy and anticoagulant/antiplatelet therapy, the method comprising co-administering to said subject about 4 g of ethyl icosapentate per day with the subject's statin and anticoagulant/antiplatelet therapy.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein administering lowers triglycerides in the subject.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the statin therapy is a stable statin therapy.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the ethyl icosapentate is present in a pharmaceutical composition and the ethyl icosapentate comprises at least about 96 wt. % of all omega-3 fatty acids in the pharmaceutical composition.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein about 1 g of the pharmaceutical composition is present in each of 4 capsules.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the antiplatelet agent is selected from the group consisting of adeparin, aspirin, clopidogrel, danaparoid, deltaparin, denaparoid, ticlopidine, cilostazol, abciximab, eptifibatide, tirofiban, defibrotide, enoxaparin, dipyridamole, and tinzaparin.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject has a baseline triglyceride level of at least about 150 mg/dL.
