Abstract

Various surgical hubs are disclosed. A surgical hub is for use with a surgical system in a surgical procedure performed in an operating room. The surgical hub comprises a control circuit configured to: pair the surgical hub with a first device of the surgical system; assign a first identifier to the first device; pair the surgical hub with a second device of the surgical system; assign a second identifier to the second device; and selectively pair the first device with the second device based on perioperative data.

Claims (47)

1. A surgical hub for use with a surgical system in a surgical procedure performed in an operating room, the surgical hub comprising:

a control circuit configured to:

detect at least one surgical device within the operating room;

communicably couple to the at least one detected surgical device;

communicably couple to a remote interface device;

receive livestream data of a surgical site from the at least one detected surgical device;

display the livestream data on a display screen;

analyze the livestream data;

derive information relevant to a surgical step in the surgical procedure from the livestream data in real-time; and

overlay the derived information on the display screen.

2. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is further configured to:

communicably couple to a remote server; and

transmit the livestream data to the remote server.

3. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is further configured to differentiate a first surgical step from a second surgical step based on the livestream data.

4. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is further configured to capture a still frame from the livestream data.

5. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the remote interface device is configured to enable access to settings of the surgical hub.

6. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the remote interface device is configured to direct specific surgical device data to be displayed on specific display screens from a plurality of display screens connected to the surgical hub.

7. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the remote interface device is a tablet.

8. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is further configured to communicably couple to a second surgical hub in the operating room, wherein the remote interface device is configured to terminate communication of the at least one surgical device from one surgical hub and communicably couple the at least one surgical device to the other surgical hub.

9. The surgical hub of claim 1 , wherein the control circuit is configured to apply machine learning techniques to analyze the livestream data.

10. A surgical hub for use with a surgical system in a surgical procedure performed in an operating room, the surgical hub comprising:

a control circuit configured to:

detect at least one surgical device within the operating room;

communicably couple to the at least one detected surgical device;

communicably couple to a remote interface device;

communicably couple to a remote server;

receive livestream data of a surgical site from the at least one detected surgical device;

transmit the livestream data to the remote server, wherein the remote server is configured to analyze the live stream data and derive information relevant to a surgical step in the surgical procedure from the livestream data in real-time;

display the livestream data on a display screen;

receive the derived information from the remote server; and

overlay the derived information on the display screen.

11. The surgical hub of claim 10 , wherein the remote server is further configured to differentiate a first surgical step from a second surgical step based on the livestream data.

12. The surgical hub of claim 10 , wherein the remote interface device is configured to enable access to settings of the surgical hub.

13. The surgical hub of claim 10 , wherein the remote interface device is configured to direct specific surgical device data to be displayed on specific display screens from a plurality of display screens connected to the surgical hub.

14. The surgical hub of claim 10 , wherein the remote interface device is a tablet.

15. The surgical hub of claim 10 , wherein the control circuit is further configured to communicably couple to a second surgical hub in the operating room, wherein the remote interface device is configured to terminate communication of the at least one surgical device from one surgical hub and communicably couple the at least one surgical device to the other surgical hub.

16. The surgical hub of claim 10 , wherein the remote server is configured to apply machine learning techniques to analyze the livestream data.

17. A remote server connected to a plurality of surgical hubs that are used with surgical systems in surgical procedures performed in operating rooms, the remote server comprising:

a control circuit configured to:

communicably couple to at least one surgical hub;

receive livestream data from the at least one surgical hub;

analyze the livestream data;

derive information relevant to a surgical step in at least one of the surgical procedures from the livestream data in real-time; and

transmit the derived information to the at least one surgical hub,

wherein the control circuit is further configured to detect a staple pattern based on the received livestream data, wherein the staple pattern is defined by staples deployed from a cartridge into tissue at a surgical site.

18. The remote server of claim 17 , wherein the control circuit is further configured to differentiate a first surgical step from a second surgical step based on the livestream data.

19. The remote server of claim 17 , wherein the control circuit is configured to apply machine learning techniques to analyze the livestream data.
