Abstract

Wireless communications for capability signaling are described. A device may receive one or more parameters associated with capabilities of a wireless device. The device may determine one or more policy control provisions associated with a quality of service of wireless communication for the wireless device.

Claims (100)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a device associated with policy control from an application function (AF), a first message comprising:

one or more priority parameters indicating one or more priorities associated with one or more vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities of a wireless device; and

one or more quality of service (QoS) parameters indicating a QoS of a V2X communication associated with a V2X application for the wireless device;

determining, based on the one or more priority parameters and the QoS, one or more policy and charging control (PCC) provisions for adjusting the V2X communication; and

sending a second message comprising the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device indicates a wireless device type comprising at least one of:

a vehicle associated with a first V2X capability; or

a communication device associated with a second V2X capability.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities comprises one or more V2X service types associated with a vehicle.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving an indication of an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request comprising the one or more QoS parameters.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the V2X communication comprises a dedicated evolved packet system (EPS) bearer.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the AF is located in at least one of:

a V2X application server (AS); or

a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF).

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a request for a modification of a priority of the V2X application.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request indicated by an identifier for the V2X application, wherein a session initiation protocol (SIP) header field comprises the identifier for the V2X application.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising causing the wireless device to use a default bearer to modify a priority of the V2X application.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more priority parameters comprises a plurality of priority levels to implement a plurality of QoS levels for the QoS of the V2X communication.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a session initiation protocol (SIP) message that comprises an identifier, for the V2X application, comprising at least one of:

an internet multimedia subsystem (IMS) communication service identifier (ICSI); or

an IMS application reference identifier (IARI),

wherein the SIP message indicates the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device.

12. The method of claim 1 , further comprising causing at least one packet to be sent based on enforcement of the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

13. A device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:

receive, from an application function (AF), a first message comprising:

one or more priority parameters indicating one or more priorities associated with one or more vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities of a wireless device; and

one or more quality of service (QoS) parameters indicating a QoS of a V2X communication associated with a V2X application for the wireless device;

determine, based on the one or more priority parameters and the QoS, one or more policy and charging control (PCC) provisions for adjusting the V2X communication; and

send a second message comprising the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

14. The device of claim 13 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device indicates a wireless device type comprising at least one of:

a vehicle associated with a first V2X capability; or

a communication device associated with a second V2X capability.

15. The device of claim 13 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities comprises one or more V2X service types associated with a vehicle.

16. The device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to receive an indication of an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request comprising the one or more QoS parameters.

17. The device of claim 13 , wherein the V2X communication comprises a dedicated evolved packet system (EPS) bearer.

18. The device of claim 13 , wherein the AF is located in at least one of:

a V2X application server (AS); or

a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF).

19. The device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to receive a request for a modification of a priority of the V2X application.

20. The device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to send an indication, to the wireless device, to use a default bearer to modify a priority of the V2X application.

21. The device of claim 13 , wherein the one or more priority parameters comprises a plurality of priority levels to implement a plurality of QoS levels for the QoS of the V2X communication.

22. The device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to send at least one packet based on enforcement of the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

23. A system comprising:

at least one device associated with policy control; and

an application function (AF);

wherein the AF is configured to:

send, to the at least one device, a first message comprising:

one or more priority parameters indicating one or more priorities associated with one or more vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities of a wireless device, and

one or more quality of service (QoS) parameters indicating a QoS of a V2X communication associated with a V2X application for the wireless device;

wherein the at least one device is configured to:

determine, based on the one or more priority parameters and the QoS, one or more policy and charging control (PCC) provisions for adjusting the V2X communication; and

send a second message comprising the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

24. The system of claim 23 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device indicates a wireless device type comprising at least one of:

a vehicle associated with a first V2X capability; or

a communication device associated with a second V2X capability.

25. The system of claim 23 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities comprises one or more V2X service types associated with a vehicle.

26. The system of claim 23 , wherein the AF is configured to receive an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request comprising the one or more QoS parameters.

27. The system of claim 23 , wherein the V2X communication comprises a dedicated evolved packet system (EPS) bearer.

28. The system of claim 23 , wherein the AF is located in at least one of:

a V2X application server (AS); or

a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF).

29. The system of claim 23 , wherein the AF is configured to send an indication, to the wireless device, to modify the V2X communication.

30. The system of claim 23 , wherein the AF is configured to receive a request for a modification of a priority of the V2X application.

31. The system of claim 23 , wherein the AF is configured to receive an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request indicated by an identifier for the V2X application, wherein a session initiation protocol (SIP) header field comprises the identifier for the V2X application.

32. The system of claim 23 , wherein the wireless device is configured to use a default bearer to modify a priority of the V2X application.

33. The system of claim 23 , wherein the one or more priority parameters comprises a plurality of priority levels to implement a plurality of QoS levels for the QoS of the V2X communication.

34. The system of claim 23 , wherein a session initiation protocol (SIP) header field comprises an identifier, for the V2X application, comprising at least one of:

an internet multimedia subsystem (IMS) communication service identifier (ICSI); or

an IMS application reference identifier (IARI),

wherein the SIP header field indicates the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device.

35. The system of claim 23 , wherein the at least one device is configured to send at least one packet based on enforcement of the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

36. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a device associated with policy control to:

receive, from an application function (AF), a first message comprising:

one or more priority parameters indicating one or more priorities associated with one or more vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities of a wireless device; and

one or more quality of service (QoS) parameters indicating a QoS of a V2X communication associated with a V2X application for the wireless device;

determine, based on the one or more priority parameters and the QoS, one or more policy and charging control (PCC) provisions for adjusting the V2X communication; and

send a second message comprising the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.

37. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device indicates a wireless device type comprising at least one of:

a vehicle associated with a first V2X capability; or

a communication device associated with a second V2X capability.

38. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the one or more V2X capabilities comprises one or more V2X service types associated with a vehicle.

39. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the device associated with policy control to receive an indication of an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request comprising the one or more QoS parameters.

40. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the V2X communication comprises a dedicated evolved packet system (EPS) bearer.

41. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the AF is located in at least one of:

a V2X application server (AS); or

a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF).

42. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the device associated with policy control to receive a request for a modification of a priority of the V2X application.

43. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the device associated with policy control to receive an evolved packet system (EPS) bearer modification request indicated by an identifier for the V2X application, and wherein a session initiation protocol (SIP) header field comprises the identifier for the V2X application.

44. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the device associated with policy control to cause the wireless device to use a default bearer to modify a priority of the V2X application.

45. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the one or more priority parameters comprises a plurality of priority levels to implement a plurality of QoS levels for the QoS of the V2X communication.

46. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the device associated with policy control to:

receive a session initiation protocol (SIP) message that comprises an identifier, for the V2X application, comprising at least one of:

an internet multimedia subsystem (IMS) communication service identifier (ICSI); or

an IMS application reference identifier (IARI), and

wherein the SIP message indicates the one or more V2X capabilities of the wireless device.

47. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the device associated with policy control to cause at least one packet to be sent based on enforcement of the one or more PCC provisions for adjusting the V2X communication.
