Abstract

A system for meta-indexing, search, compliance, and test framework for software development is provided, comprising an indexing service configured to create a dataset by processing and indexing source code of a project provided by a developer, perform a code audit on the indexed source code, store results from the code audit in the dataset, gather additional information relating to the provided project, store the additional information in the dataset, and store the dataset into memory; and a monitoring service configured to continuously monitor the project for at least source code changes and make changes to the dataset as needed.

Claims (27)

1. A system for meta-indexing, search, compliance, and test framework for software development, comprising:

an indexing service comprising a plurality of programming instructions stored in the memory and operable on the processor of a computing device, wherein the programmable instructions, when operating on the processor, cause the processor to:

indexing a set of source code provided over a network;

perform a code audit on the indexed set of source code;

store results from the code audit in a dataset;

gather additional information relating to a project associated with the provided set of source code;

store the additional information in the dataset; and

store the dataset into memory.

2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a monitoring service comprising a second plurality of programming instructions wherein the second plurality of programmable instructions, when operating on the processor, cause the processor to continuously monitor the project for at least source code changes and to make changes to the dataset as needed.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the licensing service detects and automatically resolves inappropriate usage of the project.

4. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a licensing service that manages, tracks, and restricts usage of the provided project.

5. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a recommendation engine to provide usage recommendations to end users.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the information relating to the project comprises links to relevant message forums.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the information relating to the project comprises vulnerability information of related libraries and dependencies.

8. A method for meta-indexing, search, compliance, and test framework for software development, comprising the steps of:

(a) indexing, with an indexing service, a set of source code provided over a network;

(b) performing a code audit on the indexed set of source code with the indexing service;

(c) storing results from the code audit in a dataset;

(d) gathering additional information relating to a project associated with the provided set of source code;

(e) storing the additional information in the dataset; and

(f) storing the dataset into memory with the indexing service.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising the steps of continuously monitoring the project for at least source code changes and making changes to the dataset as needed with a monitoring service.

10. The method of claim 8 , further comprising a licensing service that manages, tracks, and restricts usage of the provided project.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the licensing service detects and automatically resolves inappropriate usage of the provided project.

12. The method of claim 8 , further comprising a recommendation engine to provide usage recommendations to end-users.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of the information relating to the provided project comprises links to relevant message forums.

14. The method of claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of the information relating to the provided project comprises vulnerability information of related libraries and dependencies.
