Sterile field interactive control displays
An interactive control unit is disclosed. The interactive control unit includes an interactive touchscreen display, an interface configured to couple the control unit to a surgical hub, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive input commands from the interactive touchscreen display located inside a sterile field and transmit the input commands to the surgical hub to control devices coupled to the surgical hub located outside the sterile field.
1. A surgical system comprising:
a surgical hub;
a primary display in communication with the surgical hub, wherein the primary display is configured to display a surgical site; and
an interactive touchscreen display in communication with the surgical hub and the primary display, wherein the interactive touchscreen display is configured to control surgical devices communicatively coupled to the surgical hub and be used within a sterile field,
wherein the interactive touchscreen display comprises:
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to:
provide an image of the surgical site on the interactive touchscreen display;
receive a gesture from the interactive touchscreen display;
manipulate the image of the surgical site based on the gesture,
wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to:
provide, through the interactive touchscreen display, a status of one or more medical instruments configured to be communicatively coupled to the surgical hub; and
based on information related to the status of the one or more medical instruments, power off a first medical instrument among the one or more medical instruments and power on a second medical instrument among the one or more medical instruments.
2. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the gesture comprises at least one of drag, drag and drop, scroll, rotate, tap, double tap, flick, swipe, pinch open, pinch close, touch and hold, or two-finger scroll.
3. The surgical system of claim 2 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to zoom in the image of the surgical site when the received gesture is the pinch open.
4. The surgical system of claim 2 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to zoom out the image of the surgical site when the received gesture is the pinch close.
5. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein manipulating the image of the surgical site comprises changing a view of the image of the surgical site.
6. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the status of the one or more medical instruments comprises whether the one or more medical instruments are activated.
7. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to provide, through the interactive touchscreen display, a checklist.
8. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to provide, through the interactive touchscreen display, procedure steps.
9. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to provide, through the interactive touchscreen display, a timer configured to measure time.
10. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the image comprises a three dimensional view of the surgical site.
11. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the interactive touchscreen display is a multi zone console with multiple input zones and output zones, wherein the multi zone console is to receive inputs from multiple users in the sterile field.
12. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein based on the interactive touchscreen display being in a consult mode, the interactive touchscreen display is to delete data after consult mode has ended.
13. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the interactive touchscreen display is to control surgical devices coupled to the surgical hub.
14. The surgical system of claim 1 , wherein the interactive touchscreen display is to control the surgical hub to determine a display location and information to be displayed.
15. An interactive touchscreen display in communication with a surgical hub and a primary display that is in communication with the surgical hub, wherein the primary display is configured to display a surgical site, wherein the interactive touchscreen display is configured to control surgical devices communicatively coupled to the surgical hub and be used within a sterile field, the interactive touchscreen display comprising:
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to:
provide an image of the surgical site on the interactive touchscreen display;
receive a gesture from the interactive touchscreen display;
manipulate the image of the surgical site based on the gesture,
wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to:
provide, through the interactive touchscreen display, a status of one or more medical instruments configured to be communicatively coupled to the surgical hub; and
based on information related to the status of the one or more medical instruments, power off a first medical instrument among the one or more medical instruments and power on a second medical instrument among the one or more medical instruments.
16. The interactive touchscreen display of claim 15 , wherein the gesture comprises at least one of drag, drag and drop, scroll, rotate, tap, double tap, flick, swipe, pinch open, pinch close, touch and hold, or two-finger scroll.
17. The interactive touchscreen display of claim 16 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to zoom in the image of the surgical site when the received gesture is the pinch open.
18. The interactive touchscreen display of claim 16 , wherein the memory further stores instructions executable by the processor to zoom out the image of the surgical site when the received gesture is the pinch close.
19. The interactive touchscreen display of claim 15 , wherein manipulating the image of the surgical site comprises changing a view of the image of the surgical site.
20. The interactive touchscreen display of claim 15 , wherein the status of the one or more medical instruments comprises whether the one or more medical instruments are activated.
