Abstract

A system that utilizes a mobile device to facilitate a first transfer of an amount of funds associated with a line of credit to a gaming establishment account and further to facilitate a second transfer of part or all of such an amount of funds from the gaming establishment account to a gaming device, such as an electronic gaming machine or a gaming table component associated with a gaming establishment gaming table.

Claims (38)

1. A slot machine interface board comprising:

a first communication interface operable to communicate with a server of a gaming establishment credit system;

a second communication interface operable to communicate with a server of a cashless wagering system;

a third communication interface operable to serially communicate, in accordance with a slot accounting system protocol, with a master gaming controller of an electronic gaming machine;

a processor distinct from and operable with the server of the gaming establishment credit system and the server of the cashless wagering system; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor after an establishment of a line of credit of a first amount of funds with the gaming establishment credit system, cause the processor to:

responsive to a receipt, via the first communication interface, of data associated with an indication of a line of credit activation event occurring in association with a mobile device application being executed by a mobile device and prior to any of the first amount of funds associated with the line of credit being available to a user, communicate, via the second communication interface, data that results in an automatic modification of a cashless wagering account associated with the user and maintained by the server of the cashless wagering system, the automatic modification being based on a second amount of funds activated from the line of credit, the second amount of funds being up to the first amount of funds, and

following the automatic modification of the cashless wagering account associated with the user and responsive to a fund transfer event occurring in association with the mobile device application:

receive, via the second communication interface, data associated with a third amount of funds determined to be withdrawn from the cashless wagering account associated with the user, and

communicate, via the third communication interface, data that results in a display device of the electronic gaming machine displaying the third amount of funds.

2. The slot machine interface board of claim 1 , wherein the line of credit activation event occurs responsive to a line of credit activation input being made in association with the mobile device application.

3. The slot machine interface board of claim 2 , wherein the line of credit activation input comprises an approval of the second amount of funds activated from the line of credit.

4. The slot machine interface board of claim 1 , wherein the fund transfer event occurs responsive to a fund transfer input being made in association with the mobile device application.

5. The slot machine interface board of claim 1 , wherein the fund transfer event automatically occurs responsive to the modification of the cashless wagering account.

6. The slot machine interface board of claim 1 , wherein the second amount of funds is different from the third amount of funds.

7. The slot machine interface board of claim 1 , wherein when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the processor to modify a credit balance of the electronic gaming machine based on the third amount of funds.

8. A gaming table component comprising:

a first communication interface operable to communicate with a server of a gaming establishment credit system;

a second communication interface operable to communicate with a server of a cashless wagering system;

a gaming table component processor distinct from and operable with the server of the gaming establishment credit system and the server of the cashless wagering system; and

a gaming table component memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the gaming table component processor after an establishment of a line of credit of a first amount of funds with the gaming establishment credit system, cause the gaming table component processor to:

responsive to a receipt, via the first communication interface, of data associated with an indication of a line of credit activation event occurring in association with a mobile device application being executed by a mobile device and prior to any of the first amount of funds associated with the line of credit being available to a user, communicate, via the second communication interface, data that results in an automatic modification of a cashless wagering account associated with the user and maintained by the server of the cashless wagering system, the automatic modification being based on a second amount of funds activated from the line of credit, the second amount of funds being up to the first amount of funds, and

following the automatic modification of the cashless wagering account associated with the user and responsive to a fund transfer event occurring in association with the mobile device application, cause a display, by a display device, of an amount of gaming table chips to be provided to the user, wherein the amount of gaming table chips corresponds to a third amount of funds.

9. The gaming table component of claim 8 , wherein the line of credit activation event occurs responsive to a line of credit activation input being made in association with the mobile device application.

10. The gaming table component of claim 9 , wherein the line of credit activation input comprises an approval of the second amount of funds activated from the line of credit.

11. The gaming table component of claim 8 , wherein the fund transfer event occurs responsive to a fund transfer input being made in association with the mobile device application.

12. The gaming table component of claim 8 , wherein the fund transfer event automatically occurs responsive to the modification of the cashless wagering account.

13. The gaming table component of claim 8 , wherein the second amount of funds is different from the third amount of funds.

14. The gaming table component of claim 8 , wherein the display device comprises a display device of a dealer workstation associated with a gaming table.

15. The gaming table component of claim 8 , wherein the display device comprises a display device of a mobile workstation.

16. A method of operating a slot machine interface board, the method comprising:

after an establishment of a line of credit of a first amount of funds with a gaming establishment credit system, responsive to a receipt, via a first communication interface operable to communicate with a server of a gaming establishment credit system, of data associated with a line of credit activation event occurring in association with a mobile device application being executed by a mobile device and prior to any of the first amount of funds associated with the line of credit being available to a user, communicating, via a second communication interface operable to communicate with a server of a cashless wagering system, data that results in an automatic modification of a cashless wagering account associated with the user and maintained by the server of the cashless wagering system, the automatic modification being based on a second amount of funds activated from the line of credit, the second amount of funds being up to the first amount of funds, and

following the automatic modification of the cashless wagering account associated with the user and responsive to a fund transfer event occurring in association with the mobile device application:

receiving, via the second communication interface, data associated with a third amount of funds determined to be withdrawn from the cashless wagering account associated with the user, and

communicating, via a third communication interface operable to serially communicate, in accordance with a slot accounting system protocol, with a master gaming controller of an electronic gaming machine, data that results in a display device of the electronic gaming machine displaying the third amount of funds.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the line of credit activation event occurs responsive to a line of credit activation input being made in association with the mobile device application.

18. The method of claim 16 , wherein the fund transfer event occurs responsive to a fund transfer input being made in association with the mobile device application.

19. The method of claim 16 , wherein the second amount of funds is different from the third amount of funds.
