Abstract

Sharing data is disclosed. In some cases, sharing data includes receiving a request to share data from a first account to a second account, receiving an indication of a plurality of first account profiles associated with the first account to share with the second account, and establishing sharing from the plurality of first account profiles to the second account, wherein sharing comprises the second account having read access to a subset of nonpublic data associated with the plurality of first account profiles.

Claims (42)

1. A method for sharing genotype information, comprising:

providing a database comprising records associated with a plurality of users of an application;

receiving, from a first user, a request to share non-public genotype information with a second user through the application, wherein:

one or more first user records are stored in the database, are uniquely associated with the first user, and comprise non-public genotype information of the first user, and

one or more second user records are stored in the database, are uniquely associated with the second user, and comprise non-public genotype information of the second user;

in response to receiving the request from the first user, notifying the second user of the request from the first user;

receiving, from the second user, an acceptance of the request to share non-public genotype information through the application; and

in response to receiving the acceptance of the request to share non-public genotype information, providing to the first user and to the second user access, through the application, to a comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of a trait associated with a genotype.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the comparison comprises a comparison of a likelihood that each of the first user and the second user exhibits the trait.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of ancestry information.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of health information.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of raw genome data.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein notifying the second user of the request from the first user comprises sending an email to the second user.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein notifying the second user of the request from the first user comprises notifying the second user through the application.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the application is a web application.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the request comprises an indication of a first sharing level of a set of two or more sharing levels, wherein the first sharing level indicates a subset of non-public genotype information in the one or more first user records to be shared.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein at least one sharing level of the set of two or more sharing levels indicates trait information.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein at least one sharing level of the set of two or more sharing levels indicates ancestry information.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein at least one sharing level of the set of two or more sharing levels indicates health information.

15. A computing platform for sharing genotype information comprising:

an application configured to interact with a database comprising genotype records associated with a plurality of users of the application and to receive, from a first user, a request to share non-public genotype information with a second user through the application, wherein:

one or more first user records are stored in the database, are uniquely associated with the first user, and comprise non-public genotype information of the first user, and

one or more second user records are stored in the database, are uniquely associated with the second user, and comprise non-public genotype information of the second user;

wherein the computing platform is configured to:

in response to receiving the request from the first user, notify the second user of the request from the first user;

receive, from the second user, an acceptance of the request to share non-public genotype information through the application; and

in response to receiving the acceptance of the request to share non-public genotype information, provide to the first user and to the second user access, through the application, to a comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user.

16. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of a trait associated with a genotype.

17. The computing platform of claim 16 , wherein the comparison comprises a comparison of a likelihood that each of the first user and the second user exhibits the trait.

18. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data.

19. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of ancestry information.

20. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of health information.

21. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the comparison of non-public genotype information of the first user and non-public genotype information of the second user comprises a comparison of raw genome data.

22. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein notifying the second user of the request from the first user comprises sending an email to the second user.

23. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein notifying the second user of the request from the first user comprises notifying the second user through the application.

24. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the application is a web application.

25. The computing platform of claim 15 , wherein the request comprises an indication of a first sharing level of a set of two or more sharing levels, wherein the first sharing level indicates a subset of non-public genotype information in the one or more first user records to be shared.

26. The computing platform of claim 25 , wherein at least one sharing level of the set of two or more sharing levels indicates trait information.

27. The computing platform of claim 25 , wherein at least one sharing level of the set of two or more sharing levels indicates ancestry information.

28. The computing platform of claim 25 , wherein at least one sharing level of the set of two or more sharing levels indicates health information.
