Abstract

Devices and methods are disclosed for a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) design in new radio (NR). A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) for sidelink communication may receive a resource pool identity (ID). Further, the WTRU may determine whether to include information related to demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) density for a sidelink transmission in sidelink control information (SCI) based on the resource pool ID. On a condition that the information related to DM-RS density is to be included in the SCI, the WTRU may transmit the SCI including the information related to DM-RS density. Also, the SCI may be associated with a PSSCH. Accordingly, the WTRU may transmit the sidelink transmission on the PSSCH with one or more DM-RSs at a first DM-RS density based on the information related to DM-RS density.

Claims (32)

1. A method for use in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) for sidelink communication, the method comprising:

receiving a resource pool identity (ID);

based on a determination to include information related to demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) density for a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) transmission in sidelink control information (SCI), transmitting the SCI including the information related to DM-RS density, wherein the determination is based on the resource pool ID, and wherein the SCI is associated with the PSSCH transmission; and

transmitting the PSSCH transmission with one or more DM-RSs at a first DM-RS density based on the information related to DM-RS density.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density indicates a number of symbols used for the one or more DM-RSs.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density includes a DM-RS density indicator field.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU is a source WTRU.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the SCI is transmitted via a radio resource control (RRC) message.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density includes information related to DM-RS time density.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density is predetermined.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining that hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) is enabled; and

based on the determination that HARQ is enabled, determining a second DM-RS density.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the second DM-RS density is associated with HARQ parameters, and wherein the HARQ parameters include one or more of a redundancy version number, a new data indicator (NDI) bit toggle status, a HARQ retransmission number or a HARQ process number.

10. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) for sidelink communication, the WTRU comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver; wherein:

the transceiver is configured to receive a resource pool identity (ID);

the processor and the transceiver are configured to transmit, based on a determination to include information related to demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) density for a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) transmission in sidelink control information (SCI), the SCI including the information related to DM-RS density, wherein the determination is based on the resource pool ID, and wherein the SCI is associated with the PSSCH transmission; and

the processor and the transceiver are configured to transmit the PSSCH transmission with one or more DM-RSs at a first DM-RS density based on the information related to DM-RS density.

11. WTRU of claim 10 ,

wherein the information related to DM-RS density indicates a number of symbols used for the one or more DM-RSs.

12. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density includes a DM-RS density indicator field.

13. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the WTRU is a source WTRU.

14. The WTRU of claim 13 , wherein the SCI is transmitted via a radio resource control (RRC) message.

15. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density includes information related to DM-RS time density.

16. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the information related to DM-RS density is predetermined.

17. The WTRU of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine that hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) is enabled; and wherein the processor is further configured to determine a second DM-RS density based on the determination that HARQ is enabled.

18. The WTRU of claim 17 , wherein the second DM-RS density is associated with HARQ parameters, and wherein the HARQ parameters include one or more of a redundancy version number, a new data indicator (NDI) bit toggle status, a HARQ retransmission number or a HARQ process number.

19. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

transmitting HARQ information with one or more DM-RSs at the second DM-RS density, wherein the HARQ parameters are received in associated SCI.

20. The WTRU of claim 18 , wherein the processor and the transceiver are further configured to transmit HARQ information with one or more DM-RSs at the second DM-RS density, wherein the HARQ parameters are received in associated SCI.
