Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition and/or an animal feed comprising polypeptides having muramidase activity and essential oils and uses thereof.

Claims (7)

1. A method of improving body weight gain (BWG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), carotenoid absorption and/or intestinal permeability of a mono-gastric animal comprising;

administering to the animal a composition or an animal feed comprising one or more polypeptides having muramidase activity and at least one essential oil selected from the group consisting of thymol, eugenol, piperine and mixtures thereof, wherein

the composition or animal feed is dosed such that the polypeptide having muramidase activity is present in an amount of 300 to 900 mg enzyme protein per kq animal feed, and wherein the composition or animal feed is dosed such that the at least one essential oil is present in an amount of 0.3 to 10 mg per kq animal feed.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the animal is selected from the group consisting of mono-gastric animals, poultry, pet animals, fish, and crustaceans.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide having muramidase activity is present in an amount of 300 to 800 mg enzyme protein per kg animal feed.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide having muramidase activity is present in an amount of 400 to 700 mg enzyme protein per kg animal feed.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide having muramidase activity is present in an amount of 500 to 600 mg enzyme protein per kg animal feed.
