Abstract

A method of signaling tile set parameters is disclosed. A value for a syntax element is signaled in a network abstraction layer (NAL) unit. The value for the syntax element indicates that a tile set layer syntax structure is included in the NAL unit. Values for one or more tile set parameters included in the tile set layer syntax structure are signaled.

Claims (54)

1. A method of decoding video data, the method comprising:

parsing a plurality of picture parameters included in a picture header of a picture in the video data;

parsing a present flag included in a sub-picture header of a sub-picture generated by dividing the picture;

determining, based on the present flag, whether a specific one of a plurality of sub-picture parameters is determined based on the sub-picture header or the picture header, the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters corresponding to the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters; and

reconstructing the sub-picture based on the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters when the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters is determined based on the sub-picture header.

2. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

Reconstructing the sub-picture based on the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters without parsing the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters from the sub-picture header when the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters is determined based on the picture header.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the present flag indicates whether the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters is included in the sub-picture header for overriding the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein:

the sub-picture is a tile set including one or more tiles divided from the picture, and

the sub-picture header is a tile set header.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein:

the sub-picture is a slice divided from the picture, and

the sub-picture header is a slice header.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the picture header is a non-video coding Layer VCL (non-VCL) network abstraction layer (NAL) unit in the video data.

7. The method according to claim 6 , wherein:

the plurality of picture parameters in the picture header includes at least one of a temporal motion vector prediction (MVP) enabled flag, a collected picture flag and a motion vector difference (MVD) flag,

the temporal MVP enabled flag indicates whether a temporal motion vector predictor is enabled for the picture,

the collocated picture flag indicates whether a collocated picture used for a temporal MVP is derived from a reference picture list having a list number equal to zero, and

the MVD flag indicates whether a MVD coding syntax structure is not parsed.

8. The method according to claim 7 , wherein:

the temporal MVP enabled flag is a flag pic_temporal_mvp_enabled_flag,

the collected picture flag is a flag collocated_from_l0_flag, and

the MVD flag is a flag mvd_l1_zero_flag.

9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein:

parsing the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters from the sub-picture header when the present flag is equal to one, and

determining the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters be equal to the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters without parsing the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters from the sub-picture header when the present flag is equal to zero.

10. An electronic device for decoding a bitstream, the electronic device comprising:

at least one processor; and

a storage device coupled to the at least one processor and storing a program which, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the at least one processor to:

parse a plurality of picture parameters included in a picture header of a picture in the video data;

parse a present flag included in a sub-picture header of a sub-picture generated by dividing the picture;

determine, based on the present flag, whether a specific one of a plurality of sub-picture parameters is determined based on the sub-picture header or the picture header, the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters corresponding to the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters; and

reconstruct the sub-picture based on the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters when the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters is determined based on the sub-picture header.

11. The electronic device according to claim 10 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further causes the at least one processor to:

reconstruct the sub-picture based on the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters without parsing the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters from the sub-picture header when the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters is determined based on the picture header.

12. The electronic device according to claim 10 , wherein the present flag indicates whether the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters is included in the sub-picture header for overriding the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters.

13. The electronic device according to claim 10 , wherein:

the sub-picture is a tile set including one or more tiles divided from the picture, and the sub-picture header is a tile set header.

14. The electronic device according to claim 10 , wherein

the sub-picture is a slice divided from the picture, and

the sub-picture header is a slice header.

15. The electronic device according to claim 10 , wherein the picture header is a non-video coding Layer VCL (non-VCL) network abstraction layer (NAL) unit in the video data.

16. The electronic device according to claim 15 , wherein:

the plurality of picture parameters in the picture header includes at least one of a temporal motion vector prediction (MVP) enabled flag, a collected picture flag and a motion vector difference (MVD) flag,

the temporal MVP enabled flag indicates whether a temporal motion vector predictor is enabled for the picture,

the collocated picture flag indicates whether a collocated picture used for a temporal MVP is derived from a reference picture list having a list number equal to zero, and

the MVD flag indicates whether a MVD coding syntax structure is not parsed.

17. The electronic device according to claim 16 , wherein:

the temporal MVP enabled flag is a flag pic_temporal_mvp_enabled_flag, and

the collected picture flag is a flag collocated_from_l0_flag and the MVD flag is a flag mvd_l1_zero_flag.

18. The electronic device according to claim 10 , wherein:

parsing the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters from the sub-picture header when the present flag is equal to one, and

determining the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters be equal to the specific one of the plurality of picture parameters without parsing the specific one of the plurality of sub-picture parameters from the sub-picture header when the present flag is equal to zero.
