Abstract

A video decoding method according to the present disclosure may include partitioning a current picture into a plurality of tiles, decoding partitioning information representing a slice type, wherein the partitioning information represents whether a rectangular slice is applied and decoding first width information and first height information of a slice when the partitioning information represents that the rectangular slice is applied.

Claims (38)

1. A method of decoding a video, the method comprising:

partitioning a current picture into a plurality of tiles;

decoding partitioning information representing a slice type, wherein the partitioning information represents whether a rectangular slice is applied or not; and

decoding first width information and first height information of a slice when the partitioning information represents that the rectangular slice is applied,

wherein when the first width information indicates one tile column and the first height information indicates one tile row, whether number information is parsed or not is determined based on a height of a tile in which the slice is included,

wherein parsing of the number information is omitted when the tile is configured with one coding tree unit row,

wherein when the tile is configured with a plurality of coding tree unit rows, the number information is parsed, and

wherein the number information represents a number of slices whose height information should be explicitly signaled.

2. A method of decoding a video, the method comprising:

partitioning a current picture into a plurality of tiles;

decoding partitioning information representing a slice type, wherein the partitioning information represents whether a rectangular slice is applied or not; and

decoding first width information and first height information of a slice when the partitioning information represents that the rectangular slice is applied,

wherein when the first width information indicates one tile column and the first height information indicates one tile row, whether number information is parsed or not is determined based on a height of a tile in which the slice is included,

wherein parsing of the number information is omitted when the tile is configured with one coding tree unit row,

wherein when the tile is configured with a plurality of coding tree unit rows, the number information is parsed,

wherein the number information represents a number of slices whose height information should be explicitly signaled,

wherein second height information is parsed for a first slice whose index is smaller than a number indicated by the number information among at least one slice included in the tile.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the second height information is not parsed for a second slice whose index is the same as or greater than the number indicated by the number information.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein a height of the second slice is set as a smaller value of a height of a third slice that the second height information is parsed lastly or a remaining height in the tile.

5. A method of encoding a video, the method comprising:

partitioning a current picture into a plurality of tiles;

determining whether a rectangular slice is applied or not; and

encoding first width information and first height information of a slice when the rectangular slice is applied,

wherein when the first width information indicates one tile column and the first height information indicates one tile row, whether number information is encoded or not is determined based on a height of a tile in which the slice is included,

wherein when the tile is configured with one coding tree unit row, encoding of the number information is omitted,

wherein when the tile is configured with a plurality of coding tree unit rows, the number information is encoded, and

wherein the number information represents a number of slices whose height information should be explicitly signaled.

6. A method of encoding a video, the method comprising:

partitioning a current picture into a plurality of tiles;

determining whether a rectangular slice is applied or not; and

encoding first width information and first height information of a slice when the rectangular slice is applied,

wherein when the first width information indicates one tile column and the first height information indicates one tile row, whether number information is encoded or not is determined based on a height of a tile in which the slice is included,

wherein when the tile is configured with one coding tree unit row, encoding of the number information is omitted,

wherein when the tile is configured with a plurality of coding tree unit rows, the number information is encoded, and

wherein the number information represents a number of slices whose height information should be explicitly signaled, and

wherein second height information is encoded for a first slice whose index is smaller than a number indicated by the number information among at least one slice included in the tile.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the second height information is not encoded for a second slice whose index is the same as or greater than the number indicated by the number information.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein a height of the second slice has a smaller value of a height of a third slice that the second height information is parsed lastly or a remaining height in the tile.
