Abstract

A method, system, or apparatus may multiplex a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) and a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH). The system may apply a power boost to the PSCCH. Additionally, the method, system, or apparatus may power boost a portion of the PSSCH that corresponds to the frequency resources used by the PSSCH.

Claims (38)

1. A method for a user equipment (UE), comprising:

multiplexing a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) and a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH) such that:

a first part of the PSSCH and the PSCCH use overlapping time resources in non-overlapping frequency resources, and

a second part of the PSSCH uses first frequency resources used by the first part of the PSSCH and second frequency resources used by the PSCCH in non-overlapping time resources;

power boosting the PSCCH; and

power boosting a portion of the second part of the PSSCH that corresponds to the second frequency resources used by the PSCCH, wherein the portion of the PSSCH that is power boosted uses the same frequency resources as the PSCCH in non-overlapping time resources.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the PSSCH is power boosted for all transmission time for a frequency range used by the PSCCH.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the PSSCH and the PSCCH are power boosted by a same amount.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining an amount to power boost the PSCCH, wherein the amount of power boost of the PSCCH and the PSSCH is a function of one or more parameters comprising: sub-channel size, PSCCH allocation size, PSSCH allocation size, amount of PSCCH resources, SCI size.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising selecting a modulation and coding scheme for PSSCH based on a size of the PSCCH and a power boosting level.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising performing PSSCH channel estimation by separating a first region of the PSSCH with power boosting and a second region of the PSSCH without power boosting.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting or causing to transmit the PSSCH in a same frequency band as the PSCCH with a same power spectral density (PSD) as the PSCCH; and

transmitting or causing to transmit the PSSCH in a different frequency band from the PSCCH with a different PSD than the PSCCH.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the PSSCH and the PSCCH are transmitted using a same antenna.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining a modulation and coding scheme for transmission of the PSSCH based on at least one of a first power spectral density (PSD) of the PSSCH in a same frequency band as the PSCCH and a second PSD of the PSSCH in a different frequency band from the PSCCH.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the determining the modulation and coding scheme comprises:

determining a first modulation and coding scheme to apply to PSSCH resources in the same frequency band as the PSCCH, and

determining a second modulation and coding scheme to apply to the PSSCH resources in the different frequency band from the PSCCH.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, the computer-readable storage medium including instructions that when executed by a network node, cause the network node to:

multiplex a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) and a physical sideline shared channel (PSSCH) such that:

a first part of the PSSCH and the PSCCH use overlap time resources in non-overlapping frequency resources, and

a second part of the PSSCH uses first frequency resources used by the first part of the PSSCH and second frequency resources used by the PSCCH in non-overlapping time resources;

power boost the PSCCH; and

power boost a portion of the second part of the PSSCH that corresponds to the second frequency resources used by the PSCCH, wherein the portion of the PSSCH that is power boosted uses the same frequency resources as the PSCCH in non-overlapping time resources.

12. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the PSSCH is power boosted for all transmission time for a frequency range used by the PSCCH.

13. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the PSSCH and the PSCCH are power boosted by a same amount.

14. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further configure the network node to determine an amount to power boost the PSCCH, wherein the amount of power boost of the PSCCH and the PSSCH is a function of one or more of parameters comprising: sub-channel size, PSCCH allocation size, PSSCH allocation size, amount of PSCCH resources, SCI size.

15. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further configure the network node to select a modulation and coding scheme for PSSCH based on a size of the PSCCH and a power boosting level.

16. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further configure the network node to perform PSSCH channel estimation by separating a first region of the PSSCH with power boosting and a second region of the PSSCH without power boosting.

17. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further configure the network node to:

transmit or cause to transmit the PSSCH in a same frequency band as the PSCCH with a same power spectral density (PSD) as the PSCCH; and

transmit or cause to transmit the PSSCH in a different frequency band from the PSCCH with a different PSD than the PSCCH.

18. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the PSSCH and the PSCCH are transmitted use a same antenna.

19. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein the instructions further configure the network node to determine a modulation and coding scheme for transmission of the PSSCH based on at least one of a first power spectral density (PSD) of the PSSCH in a same frequency band as the PSCCH and a second PSD of the PSSCH in a different frequency band from the PSCCH.
