User equipment and method thereof, and base station and method thereof
Provided in the present invention are user equipment and a method thereof, and a base station and a method thereof. The method in user equipment comprises: receiving from a base station a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising PDCP duplication configuration information of a bearer; and performing, by means of the user equipment, activation configuration of PDCP duplication on the basis of the PDCP duplication configuration information of the bearer.
1. A user equipment comprising:
receiving circuitry configured to receive a radio resource control (RRC) message which includes an indication used to indicate whether each of radio link control (RLC) entities, which are associated with a single data radio bearer (DRB), is activated or deactivated for packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication, the indication being included in a PDCP-Config information element (IE); and
transmitting circuitry configured to duplicate a PDCP protocol data unit (PDU) and submit the PDCP PDU to more than one of the RLC entities which is activated for the PDCP duplication if the PDCP duplication is activated for the single DRB, wherein
the PDCP-Config IE is used to set configurable PDCP parameters for the single DRB,
the indication is constituted by more than one bit, each associated with a corresponding one of the RLC entities, and
respective bits in the indication, which are associated with the RLC entities, are arranged in ascending order of respective logical channel identities (IDs) associated with the RLC entities.
2. A base station comprising:
generating circuitry configured to generate a radio resource control (RRC) message which includes an indication used to indicate whether each of radio link control (RLC) entities, which are associated with a single data radio bearer (DRB), is activated or deactivated for packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication, the indication being included in a PDCP-Config information element (IE); and
transmitting circuitry configured to transmit the RRC message to User a user equipment, wherein
the indication causes the user equipment to duplicate a PDCP protocol data unit (PDU) and submit the PDCP PDU to more than one of the RLC entities which is activated for the PDCP duplication if the PDCP duplication is activated for the single DRB,
the PDCP-Config IE is used to set configurable PDCP parameters for the DRB single DRB,
the indication is constituted by more than one bit, each associated with a corresponding one of the RLC entities, and
respective bits in the indication, which are associated with the RLC entities, are arranged in ascending order of respective logical channel identities (IDs) associated with the RLC entities.
3. A method performed by User a user equipment, the method comprising:
receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message which includes an indication used to indicate whether each of radio link control (RLC) entities, which are associated with a single data radio bearer (DRB), is activated or deactivated for packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication, the indication being included in a PDCP-Config information element (IE); and
duplicating a PDCP protocol data unit (PDU) and submitting the PDCP PDU to more than one of the RLC entities which is activated for the PDCP duplication if the PDCP duplication is activated for the single DRB, wherein
the PDCP-Config IE is used to set configurable PDCP parameters for the single DRB,
the indication is constituted by more than one bit, each associated with a corresponding one of the RLC entities, and
respective bits in the indication, which are associated with the RLC entities, are arranged in ascending order of respective logical channel identities (IDs) associated with the RLC entities.
4. A method performed by a base station, the method comprising:
generating a radio resource control (RRC) message which includes an indication used to indicate whether each of radio link control (RLC) entities which are associated with a single data radio bearer (DRB) is activated or deactivated for packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication, the indication being included in a PDCP-Config information element (IE); and
transmitting the RRC message to a user equipment, wherein
the indication causes the user equipment to duplicate a PDCP protocol data unit (PDU) and submit the PDCP PDU to more than one of the RLC entities which is activated for the PDCP duplication if the PDCP duplication is activated for the single DRB,
the PDCP-Config IE is used to set configurable PDCP parameters for the single DRB,
the indication is constituted by more than one bit, each associated with a corresponding one of the RLC entities, and
respective bits in the indication, which are associated with the RLC entities, are arranged in ascending order of respective logical channel identities (IDs) associated with the RLC entities.
