Abstract

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a network node to inter-connect with a first secondary node (SN) within a core network. The network node may be a master node and may serve a UE. The first SN may be a source SN. The network node may initiate a change from the first SN to a second SN, which may be a target SN. The network mode may determine data forwarding from the first SN to the second SN and may request, from the first SN, data forwarding intentions prior to initiating the change from the first SN to a second first SN to the second SN. The network node may send, to the first SN, data forwarding instructions (e.g., based, at least in part, on the data forwarding intentions of the first SN) and the data forwarding instructions may include a requirement for the first SN to follow the data forwarding instructions.

transmit the PDU session resource modification information IE to a core access and mobility management function (AMF) of the core network.

8. A processor configured to cause a wireless device to:

inter-connect with a first secondary node in a core network, wherein the first secondary node serves a user equipment (UE) device attached to the core network;

initiate a change from the first secondary node to a second secondary node in the core network;

determine data forwarding from the first secondary node to the second secondary node;

receive, from the first secondary node, a report of dedicated radio bearer (DRB) mapping for first secondary node terminated bearers using secondary cell group resources; and

9. The processor of claim 8 ,

wherein the report of DRB mapping is received via user plane signaling.

10. The processor of claim 8 ,

wherein the processor is further configured to:

request, from the first secondary node, data forwarding intentions of the first secondary node prior to initiating the change from the first secondary node to the second secondary node; and

receive, form the first secondary node, data forwarding intentions of the first secondary node, wherein the data forwarding intentions of the first secondary node are received via user plane signaling; and

wherein the data forwarding instructions are based, at least in part, on the data forwarding intentions of the first secondary node.

11. The processor of claim 8

wherein the data forwarding instructions include data forwarding addresses.
