Abstract

Methods and apparatus for multi-account adjustment in third-party privacy-protected cloud environments are disclosed herein. A disclosed example apparatus includes memory and processor circuitry to execute computer readable instructions to select a demographic characteristic, the demographic characteristic defining a segment of panelists, select a type of client device, determine a number of the panelists associated with the demographic characteristic and the client device, and define a multi-account adjustment factor for the demographic characteristic and the client device, the factor based on a ratio of a number of panelists to a number of user accounts, the user accounts associated with the determined number of panelists.

Claims (34)

1 . An apparatus, comprising:

memory; and

processor circuitry to execute computer readable instructions to:

select a demographic characteristic, the demographic characteristic defining a segment of panelists;

select a type of client device;

determine a number of the panelists associated with the demographic characteristic and the client device; and

determine a multi-account adjustment factor for the demographic characteristic and the client device.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the multi-account adjustment factor is based on a ratio of the number of the panelists to a number of user accounts, the user accounts associated with the panelists.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the demographic characteristics include an age or a gender.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the client device includes a first type of client device and a second type of client device, the first type or the second type a desktop device or a mobile device.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry is to identify the panelists based on panel data from an audience measurement entity, the panel data including media impressions for panelists.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry is to adjust an initial estimate of a unique audience size based on the multi-account adjustment factor.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processor circuitry is to recalibrate the multi-account adjustment factor on a periodic or aperiodic basis.

8 . An apparatus, comprising:

a characteristic selector to select a demographic characteristic, the demographic characteristic defining a segment of panelists;

a client device identifier to select a type of client device;

a panelist determiner to determine a number of the panelists associated with the demographic characteristic and the client device; and

an adjustment factor identifier to determine a multi-account adjustment factor for the demographic characteristic and the client device.

9 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the multi-account adjustment factor is based on a ratio of the number of the panelists to a number of user accounts, the user accounts associated with the panelists.

10 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the demographic characteristics include an age or a gender.

11 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the client device includes a first type of client device and a second type of client device, the first type or the second type a desktop device or a mobile device.

12 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the panelist determiner is to identify the panelists based on panel data from an audience measurement entity, the panel data including media impressions for panelists.

13 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein an adjuster is to adjust an initial estimate of a unique audience size based on the multi-account adjustment factor.

14 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein an updater is to recalibrate the multi-account adjustment factor on a periodic or aperiodic basis.

15 . At least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause at least one processor to at least:

select a demographic characteristic, the demographic characteristic defining a segment of panelists;

select a type of client device;

determine a number of the panelists associated with the demographic characteristic and the client device; and

determine a multi-account adjustment factor for the demographic characteristic and the client device.

16 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions cause the at least one processor to identify the panelists based on panel data from an audience measurement entity, the panel data including media impressions for panelists.

17 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions cause the at least one processor to adjust an initial estimate of a unique audience size based on the multi-account adjustment factor.

18 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions cause the at least one processor to recalibrate the multi-account adjustment factor on a periodic or aperiodic basis.

19 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the client device includes a first type of client device and a second type of client device, the first type or the second type a desktop device or a mobile device.

20 . The at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions cause the at least one processor to determine the multi-account adjustment factor based on a ratio of the number of the panelists to a number of user accounts, the user accounts associated with the panelists.
