Abstract

Provided herein is an engagement and care support platform (“ECSP”) computer system including at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device for facilitating senior user engagement. The processor is programmed to: (i) register a user through an application, (ii) register a caregiver associated with the user through the application, (iii) generate a senior profile based upon user personal and scheduling data, (iv) build a daily interactive user interface that reflects the senior profile, (v) display the daily interactive user interface at a first client device associated with the user, (vi) cause the first client device to initiate a daily interaction prompt to the user, (vii) determine whether any user interaction was received in response to the daily interaction prompt, and (viii) transmit a daily update message to a second client device associated with the caregiver, including an indication of whether any user interaction was received.

Claims (40)

1. An engagement and care support platform (“ECSP”) computer device comprising at least one processor in communication with a chatbot and at least one memory device, the ECSP computer device in communication with a first client device associated with a senior user and a second client device associated with a caregiver, the at least one processor of the ECSP computer device is programmed to:

store user information for the senior user associated with the first client device and for the caregiver associated with the second client device;

continuously monitor for a first senior user interaction indicating that the senior user has interacted with the chatbot;

detect the first senior user interaction with the chatbot;

continuously monitor for a second senior user interaction indicating that the senior user has interacted with the chatbot, wherein the second senior user interaction is subsequent to the first senior user interaction;

determine an elapsed amount of time between detecting the first senior user interaction by the senior user and a current time without having detected the second senior user interaction with the chatbot; and

when the elapsed amount of time between detecting the first senior user interaction and the current time without having detected the second senior user interaction with the chatbot exceeds a predetermined threshold, transmit a message to the second client device of the caregiver indicating that the senior user has not interacted with the chatbot for the elapsed amount of time.

2. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the message causes the second client device to display a virtual button on a user interface of the second client device such that when selected the virtual button causes an initiation of at least one of a video call or a telephone call from the second client device to the first client device.

3. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the second senior user interaction with the chatbot is associated with an unprompted interaction of the senior user with the chatbot.

4. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the second client device comprises a plurality of second client devices, wherein each second client device of the plurality of second client devices are associated with one or more caregivers of the senior user.

5. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein in response to not detecting the second senior user interaction with the chatbot within a predetermined period of time from detecting the first senior user interaction, the at least one processor is further programmed to prompt the senior user to interact with the chatbot via a user interface of the first client device, the user interface of the first client device including a first speaker, a first microphone and a display device, wherein the second senior user interaction includes at least one of the senior user (i) verbally responding via the first microphone to a chatbot-based audio prompt provided via the first speaker, and (ii) clicking on a virtual button displayed on the display device of the first client device.

6. The ECSP computer device of claim 5 , wherein in response to detecting by the at least one processor the second senior user interaction with the chatbot by the senior user within the predetermined period of time from detecting the first senior user interaction, the at least one processor is further programmed to transmit a different message to the second client device of the caregiver.

7. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the caregiver includes one or more of a family member of the senior user, a friend of the senior user, a paid caregiver of the senior user, a person designated by the senior user, and a healthcare professional.

8. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further programmed to cause the first client device to display one or more scheduled activities for the senior user for that day.

9. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further programmed to interact with the senior user in response to an audio prompt received from the senior user.

10. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further programmed to:

detect the senior user interaction with the chatbot;

generate a summary of the senior user interaction with the chatbot that identifies at least a type of interaction by the senior user with the chatbot; and

transmit, to the second client device, the summary for at least a portion of the summary to be displayed on a user interface of the second client device.

11. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further programmed to:

determine a frequency of the senior user interactions with the first client device; and

transmit to the second client device one or more notifications including the frequency of the senior user interactions with the first client device, wherein the frequency of senior user interactions is displayed on a user interface of the second client device.

12. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further programmed to:

monitor a plurality of interactions between the senior user and the chatbot;

analyze the plurality of interactions between the senior user and the chatbot; and

determine the predetermined threshold for the senior user based at least in part on the analysis of the interactions between the senior user and the chatbot.

13. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further programmed to execute the chatbot to audibly interact with the senior user using plain language, wherein the chatbot receives an input signal captured by a first microphone of the first client device, interprets the input signal, generates an audio plain language response to the interpreted input signal, and responds with the audio plain language response via a first speaker of the first client device.

14. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined threshold is based on a current time of day.

15. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined threshold is based on a current day.

16. The ECSP computer device of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined threshold is based on one or more activities for the senior user.

17. A computer-implemented method for facilitating senior user engagement, the method performed by an engagement and care support platform (“ECSP”) computer system including at least one processor in communication with a chatbot and at least one memory device, the ECSP computer system in communication with a first client device associated with a senior user and a second client device associated with a caregiver, the method comprising:

storing user information for the senior user associated with the first client device and for the caregiver associated with the second client device;

continuously monitoring for a first senior user interaction indicating that the senior user has interacted with the chatbot;

detecting the first senior user interaction with the chatbot;

continuously monitoring for a second senior user interaction indicating that the senior user has interacted with the chatbot, wherein the second senior user interaction is subsequent to the first senior user interaction;

determining an elapsed amount of time between detecting the first senior user interaction by the senior user and a current time without having detected the second senior user interaction with the chatbot; and

when the elapsed amount of time between detecting the first senior user interaction and the current time without having detected the second senior user interaction with the chatbot exceeds a predetermined threshold, transmitting a message to the second client device of the caregiver indicating that the senior user has not interacted with the chatbot for the elapsed amount of time.

18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the message causes the second client device to display a virtual button on a user interface of the second client device such that when selected the virtual button causes an initiation of at least one of a video call or a telephone call from the second client device to the first client device.

19. The method of claim 17 , wherein the second senior user interaction with the chatbot is associated with an unprompted interaction of the senior user with the chatbot.

20. The method of claim 17 , wherein in response to not detecting the second senior user interaction with the chatbot, the method further comprises prompting the senior user to interact with the chatbot within a predetermined period of time via a user interface of the first client device, the user interface of the first client device including a first speaker, a first microphone and a display device, wherein the second senior user interaction includes at least one of the senior user (i) verbally responding via the first microphone to a chatbot-based audio prompt provided via the first speaker, and (ii) clicking on a virtual button displayed on the display device of the first client device.
