Abstract

A wireless device receives configuration parameters comprising a value for a bandwidth part inactivity timer. Downlink control information, indicating a resource assignment, is received on a primary cell. The bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the primary cell is started in response to determining that no random access procedure is ongoing on a secondary cell. A switch from the active bandwidth part to a default bandwidth part is made in response to an expiry of the bandwidth part inactivity timer.

Claims (43)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, configuration parameters comprising a value for a bandwidth part inactivity timer;

receiving a downlink control information, on a primary cell, indicating a resource assignment;

starting the bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the primary cell in response to determining that no random access procedure is ongoing on a secondary cell; and

switching from the active bandwidth part to a default bandwidth part in response to an expiry of the bandwidth part inactivity timer.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining that no random access procedure is ongoing is in response to the receiving the downlink control information.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising switching from the active bandwidth part to a default bandwidth part in response to an expiry of the bandwidth part inactivity timer.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the determining that no random access procedure is ongoing is based on no random access preamble being transmitted via the secondary cell.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the configuration parameters further indicate an initial active bandwidth part.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the downlink control information has a format for uplink scheduling or downlink scheduling; and

the downlink control information comprises transmission parameters of a transport block, the transmission parameters comprising radio resources and a hybrid automatic repeat request process number;

wherein the downlink control information is received via a wireless device specific search space of a downlink control channel; and

wherein the resource assignment is for an uplink grant or a downlink assignment.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the default bandwidth part is set to an initial active bandwidth part in response to no default bandwidth part being configured.

8. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive configuration parameters comprising a value for a bandwidth part inactivity timer;

receive a downlink control information, on a primary cell, indicating a resource assignment;

start the bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the primary cell in response to determining that no random access procedure is ongoing on a secondary cell; and

switch from the active bandwidth part to a default bandwidth part in response to an expiry of the bandwidth part inactivity timer.

9. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the determination that no random access procedure is ongoing is in response to reception of the downlink control information.

10. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to switch from the active bandwidth part to a default bandwidth part in response to an expiry of the bandwidth part inactivity timer.

11. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the determination that no random access procedure is ongoing is based on no random access preamble being transmitted via the secondary cell.

12. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the configuration parameters further indicate an initial active bandwidth part.

13. The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein:

the downlink control information has a format for uplink scheduling or downlink scheduling; and

the downlink control information comprises transmission parameters of a transport block, the transmission parameters comprising radio resources and a hybrid automatic repeat request process number;

wherein the downlink control information is received via a wireless device specific search space of a downlink control channel; and

wherein the resource assignment is for an uplink grant or a downlink assignment.

14. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a base station to a wireless device, configuration parameters comprising a value for a bandwidth part inactivity timer; and

transmitting a downlink control information, on a primary cell, indicating a resource assignment,

wherein the bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the primary cell is configured to start in response to the wireless device determining that no random access procedure is ongoing on a secondary cell.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the resource assignment is for an uplink grant or a downlink assignment; and wherein the downlink control information is received via a wireless device specific search space of a downlink control channel.

16. A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to:

transmit configuration parameters comprising a value for a bandwidth part inactivity timer to a wireless device; and

transmit a downlink control information, on a primary cell, indicating a resource assignment,

wherein the bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the primary cell is configured to start in response to the wireless device determining that no random access procedure is ongoing on a secondary cell.

17. The base station of claim 16 , wherein the resource assignment is for an uplink grant or a downlink assignment; and wherein the downlink control information is received via a wireless device specific search space of a downlink control channel.
