Abstract

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media are provided for validating data for integration. A file to be integrated into a dataset may be determined. The file may be characterized by a file name and metadata. Whether the dataset can be identified based on the file name and the metadata may be determined. Based on the dataset not being identifiable, information needed to identify the dataset may be requested. Based on the dataset being identifiable, the file may be routed for integration into the dataset.

Claims (66)

1 . A method for validating input data for integration into datasets, the method comprising:

identifying a first file designated for integration into at least one dataset;

determining a first file attribute for the first file;

determining a first dataset into which to integrate the first file based on validation of the first file attribute with respect to a first validation rule;

routing the first file for integration into the first dataset;

identifying a second file designated for integration into at least one dataset;

partially validating a first portion of metadata and contents of the second file;

receiving an indication that a second portion of metadata and contents of the second file is unidentifiable;

requesting information from the second file during a validation of the second file, wherein the requesting of the information comprises:

based on a first validation rule, requesting a first type of information upon determining that the first portion of the metadata comprises a first type of metadata;

obtaining an indication that the first portion of the metadata has changed to a second type of metadata;

obtaining an indication that the first validation rule has changed to a second validation rule; and

requesting a second type of information in response to the obtaining the indication that the first portion of metadata has changed to the second type of metadata and obtaining the indication that the first validation rule has changed to the second validation rule;

determining a second dataset into which to integrate the second file based on the partial validation and a presence or absence of the requested information, wherein the integrating of the second file comprises transforming the second file prior to integrating the second file into the second dataset; and

selectively routing the second file for integration into the second dataset based on the partial validation and a presence or absence of the requested information.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the metadata is contained in a file name of the second file.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first file attribute comprises a file type or a file format of the first file.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first validation rule is a dynamic rule that changes based on information contained in the first file attribute.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

selecting, from among the plurality of validation rules respectively based on different file attribute types, a second validation rule for validating the first file, the second validation rule being based on a second file attribute type of a second attribute of the first file, the second file attribute type being different from the first file attribute type; and

evaluating the second file attribute against the second validation rule.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the second file attribute is evaluated against the second validation rule in a combined processing stage that includes evaluating the first file attribute against the first validation rule.

7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the second file attribute is evaluated against the second validation rule in a different processing stage than the first file attribute is evaluated against the first validation rule.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating a preview of the second file based on the partial validation of the first portion of metadata and contents of the second file.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the requesting of the information is of a second information type if the second portion of metadata and contents is of a second type.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first portion or the second portion of the metadata indicates a particular sensor channel associated with the second file.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, in response to the second portion of metadata and contents changing from the first type to a second type, changing the requested information from the first requested information type to a second requested information type.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectively routing the second file comprises providing an option to integrate the second file into the second dataset despite an absence of an indication of the second file being validated.

13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

selectively routing the second file for integration into the second dataset comprises routing the second file for integration into a data analysis platform.

14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein requesting the second type of information comprises decoding portions of binary data within the second file.

15 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

following integration of the second file into the second dataset, retrieving a raw version of the second file prior to integration of the second file and a transformed version of the second file.

16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising:

in response to retrieving the raw version of the second file, determining a third dataset as a destination to integrate the retrieved raw version based on a modification of the second type of metadata to a third type of metadata or the second validation rule to a third validation rule.

17 . A system for validating input data for integration into datasets, the system comprising:

at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions; and

at least one processor configured to access the at least one memory and execute the computer-executable instructions to:

identify a first file designated for integration into at least one dataset;

determine a first file attribute for the first file;

determine a first dataset into which to integrate the first file based on validation of the first file attribute with respect to a first validation rule;

route the first file for integration into the first dataset;

identify a second file designated for integration into at least one dataset;

partially validate a first portion of metadata and contents of the second file;

receive an indication that a second portion of metadata and contents of the second file is unidentifiable;

request information from the second file during a validation of the second file, wherein the requesting of the information comprises:

based on a first validation rule, requesting a first type of information upon determining that the first portion of the metadata comprises a first type of metadata;

obtaining an indication that the first validation rule has changed to a second validation rule; and

requesting a second type of information in response to the obtaining the indication that the first portion of metadata has changed to the second type of metadata and obtaining the indication that the first validation rule has changed to the second validation rule;

determine a second dataset into which to integrate the second file based on the partial validation and a presence or absence of the requested information, wherein the integrating of the second file comprises transforming the second file prior to integrating the second file into the second dataset; and

selectively route the second file for integration into the second dataset based on the partial validation and a presence or absence of the requested information.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the first validation rule is a dynamic rule that changes based on information contained in the first file attribute.

19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause operations to be performed comprising:

determining a first dataset into which to integrate the first file based on validation of the first file attribute with respect to a first validation rule;

routing the first file for integration into the first dataset;

identifying a second file designated for integration into at least one dataset;

partially validating a first portion of metadata and contents of the second file;

receiving an indication that a second portion of metadata and contents of the second file is unidentifiable;

requesting information from the second file during a validation of the second file, wherein the requesting of the information comprises:

based on a first validation rule, requesting a first type of information upon determining that the first portion of the metadata comprises a first type of metadata;

obtaining an indication that the first validation rule has changed to a second validation rule; and

requesting a second type of information in response to the obtaining the indication that the first portion of metadata has changed to the second type of metadata and obtaining the indication that the first validation rule has changed to the second validation rule;

determining a second dataset into which to integrate the second file based on the partial validation and a presence or absence of the requested information, wherein the integrating of the second file comprises transforming the second file prior to integrating the second file into the second dataset; and

selectively routing the second file for integration into the second dataset based on the partial validation and a presence or absence of the requested information.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the first validation rule is a dynamic rule that changes based on information contained in the first file attribute.
